Wide variety of overpriced beer. Food is also overpriced, which mainly consists of cheese sandwiches (what am I, 12?), and are served with a side of goldfish (again, really?). The staff is rude and the service is awful. If you can afford a $9 bottled beer and don’t mind being served food fit for a toddler, this is the spot.
Worth going back !. Wonderful tomato soup, and an incredible variety of grilled cheese sandwiches.Wait staff knowledgeable and friendly.A good dollar-value, too.
Felt Dirty. Walked in with my girlfriend while downtown Akron. The place felt so dirty that we didn’t stay.
Extremely disappointed. My boyfriend and I have been going to the lockview for multiple years. There was a point in time where we were there at least once every week. Pretty loyal customers. We always loved the beer selection and fun grilled cheese. But in the recent months I have gotten up and left the restaurant without being greeted by a server TWICE. This evening we sat at table for 15 mins without being acknowledged. Needless to say we left, as we were leaving the hostesses who seated us 15 mins prior told us to have a good night, as if they didn’t realize we were walking out unhappy. Clearly you don’t mind money walking out the door. The service really needs to step it up, and the management needs to care. I work in the restaurant business as well and that is why I am so disappointed. Servers don’t know specials, beer is always out of stock and not marked or told by servers. One of our favorite bar/restaurants and now we’ll never go back.
I heard good things about this place but we were disappointed with our meal. Our server was inattentive through the second half of our meal, forgetting to bring more water and ignoring us because it took over 45 minutes for three grilled cheese sandwiches!! He said we got in behind two big parties, but a table next to us came in 15 minutes after us an was practically done when we received our food. The tater tots were crisp but the sauce was lackluster. I had the #3 and found it missing seasoning- it was just jalapeos and cheese with no real flavor. The only redeeming quality to this place is the large beer selection. I enjoyed my Kentucky bourbon barrel ale served in a snifter. That was the highlight of my meal…
Melt?. Very tasty grilled cheese but the menu needs just a little variety. The tomato soup was yummy as well. Will be back. Trying MUCH harder than most of Akron to actually be a good dining experience so Kudos for that!
