We had heard good things about this place. Articles in the newspaper had rated the food quite High. Reviews on this site though, says Service needed improving.We decided to go for dinner this evening, and was so very pleasantly surprised. April was our server, very pleasant, prompt, and attentive. Food was hot and as advertised, quite delicious.I would call this a ‘local place’ and a very well kept secret. We are already looking forward to going back as the menu was filled with great food.
In the mood for seafood, thought local, and decided on Sea Jax a local tavern that has some raw items as well as PEI steamed mussels (I think) Sea Jax is the old Bosco’s which was a local favorite, the staff and the customers ere very friendly, ordered a tap beer, looking around most had ordered the Mussels, so did we, it took a while to get the order, which was disappointing the mussels and broth were warm at best, we will give Sea Jax a second chance but sad to say, we were disappointed.
I have been here a few times in the past. It is a nice local place to get some seafood and a local craft beer. The patio is relaxing even though it borders a liquor drive through. It would be nice if they had a partition that helped to block the cars driving by. I have had several different things in the past with much luck. I am of the thought that if you are in a seafood restaurant you order the seafood and every seafood entree I have ordered has not disappointed. We usually get the band bang shrimp to start the meal. Overall, the service has always been good but can be slow at times when they are super busy. Each time I have been, the owner has always popped around to see how our meal was. He is very personable and always ensures things right before he leaves the table.
Food was great, fun atmosphere, server was super nice…..but don’t come here if you’re in a hurry to eat, food takes a while to come out.Would be great place to go with friends for beer/drinks.
Our server Ashley was awesome. Food and beer selection were good and I like getting flights so I can try a variety. However, the bartender needs an attitude adjustment. After not answering a question about a beer on tap, she went and complained about me to another customer (where I could see and hear her doing so). And because of that, I’m not sure I’ll be back since there are plenty of other options in town.
