Loved it!. I don’t pretend to be a expert in Indian cuisine, I have only had Indian a couple of times elsewhere. I must say that I really enjoyed my experience here. I had the Akash India Special, it was great, I had it as a mild dish and will try it a bit more hot the next time just as a different experience. The service was great, the daughter of the owner was very nice and explained the different dishes that came with my order, she provided great service. I spoke with the owner and explained how great the dinner was and how much I enjoyed the service, he was very polite, a genuinely nice guy. I highly recommend Akash India to anyone wanting to try Indian cuisine. I will definately be returning soon.
Hard to Nail This One Down???. It’s good, but it’s bad, but it’s good, then again I don’t know. This place is hard to nail down. I’ve only eaten the lunch buffet here, and that is mainly due to the fact they are the only Indian place downtown and I had a Jones for some Indian food. For a downtown all you can eat buffet, this is OK. The food here is not as good as some of the other Indian places in Clifton or up around the Sharonville and West Chester areas, but it is OK. One thing I will point out: TOO MUCH SALT IN THE FOOD AT THE BUFFET. If the owner is reading this, cut back on the salt man! OMG! That’s why we have salt shakers on the tables, in case we want more. When you can taste the salt over EVERY DISH, that’s not good. I’ve never had a service issue here but when you get a buffet all they do is fill your water and take your plates so perhaps I can’t comment on that yet.I do know if another Indian place opened up Downtown and had it together from day one, Akash would have issues staying in business as they do business now. I would like to see them succeed and thrive Downtown but I’m afraid this place might be too set in it’s ways to make a change for the better.
Food seemed a little like it had been sitting out for a while, but I really enjoyed the way everything was spiced. Great friendly service, and love the fact I can walk here from home!
Uninspired and flat tastes — like a school cafeteria version of Indian food. Uniformly salty and mushy. So many options for freshness and flavor — but not found here. A letdown :/
Not impressed. This place survives probably b/c it is the only Indian place in downtown Cincy. Service is indifferent and the man in charge (owner?) is gruff and unprofessional. Really don’t want to go back.
Delicious meal. I ordered a Lamb Korma with cashews and raisins (hotness to order – I ordered a 5 out of 6). The meat was very tender and sauce was rich and spicy. My wife ordered a paneer cheese and spinach dish which was equally good. The vegetarian appetizer plate was nicely cooked and provided some good variety.
Worst Dinner Ever. The Chicken was stale and smelling. Rice not cooked well. The paneer curry was straight from can. The service is sad too. The owner is unprofessional. The first resturant in the US which does not have receipt. I wonder how this resturant is still in business. The only good thing was the julab jamun which was fresh and good. The worst dinning experience in the US till date. The quality of food is really really bad.
