Tried the place with a Groupon and we had a great time. Good cubans, corn and plantains were good selections for a side. The bummer was the coffee machine was down therefore no Cuban coffee.

I ate here for lunch on March 21, 2016 while on my lunch break for Jury duty. It’s convenient to the courthouse. But cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone after witnessing the cashier sneeze twice into her hand and then deliver food to a table, without washing her hands or wearing gloves. I was enjoying my bowl of rice, black beans, meat and plantains until I saw this happen. I pushed my meal away and left. I will not patronize this restaurant again.

I had a cuban sandwich and two sides dishes – the cuban corn and the platanitos – at Cuban Pete’s today. Some might say I actually didn’t have a cuban sandwich, because an authentic cuban sandwich must include roasted pork, ham, swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, and mayo on pressed and grilled cuban bread. I don’t like pickles, mayo, or mustard, so perhaps my sandwich wasn’t authentic enough to truly be called a cuban. Worse, I asked them to add the grilled onions they put on their marinated steak sandwich. Authentic or not, it was pretty good, and large enough (at 7.95) that a half sandwich will do for most eaters with the other half saved for a light dinner. Both of the sides were tasty. The cuban corn is your basic corn off the cob with some mildly hot cuban spices mixed in as well as bit too much salt and topped with powdered goat cheese. The platanitos are your basic fried sweet plantains, which are always pretty good. And at 1.50 each, you’d think these are a good value as well, until you find out the portion size. You know those clear plastic cups that a lot of restaurants use to provide condiments to go? The sides were in these same sized cups. So the corn was maybe 3-4 bites worth and there were a total of three fried plantain slices – roughly the diameter of a quarter and the thickness of a bic pen – in the serving I received. Even for a dollar and a half, the serving size for sides needs to at minimum be doubled to be a reasonable value. If you check the menu closely, you’ll find that they also offer tacos, although sadly they do not have the cubano sandwich’s close cousin known as the medianoche. I have to give them bonus points for having Mr Pibb on tap. Having noted that they have a sandwich on the menu that includes two of the three main ingredients – guava paste and cream cheese – of the cuban pastry pastelitos de guayaba (of which Aroldis Chapman is known to be quite fond) I asked about the possibility of them adding these to the menu, and was told it is a distinct possibility in the near future.Service was friendly and fast. There is a decent amount of interior seating, and they had a few tables out on the sidewalk outside as well. If you end up driving there, be aware that finding parking near there is typically (except on Saturday) anywhere from difficult to impossible.

Good fresh food. I am a huge fan of this business and its food because every time I have eaten there it was fresh and had a delicious taste! I haven’t tried everything on the menu yet, but I can definitely vouch for the pork tacos and the side of corn with goat cheese. Yummy!

BEST PORK TACOS I HAVE EVER EATEN!!!! Thank you Cuban Pete.. Cuban Pete makes the best pork tacos I have ever eaten. The pork was a generous portion and has an excellent flavor. The cilantro and pineapple tops it off to make me CRAVE IT!!! I can’t wait until Cuban Pete comes back in my area again.

Excellent Authentic Cuban food. I’ve lived in Miami twice and this tops any Cuban sandwich there. I don’t know how they do it but the bread is authentic!

Not authentic cuban. They mix mexican dishes into the mix of things. Old San Juan tops this. This is one of the reason american people think cuban food is spicy. If you want good and authentic cuban food you’ll have to go to Louisville or Miami.
