Service is good. Honestly it’s just another expensive steakhouse. Nothing imaginative or creative really. It’s not bad and if that is what you want it’s as good as the next but it’s nothing to write home about or repeat.
One if not the best steakhouse in town, Expensive but well worth the cost and any wait you will have, service impeccable, everything from ordering drinks, appetizer and the steaks were flawless, we tipped well. One comment the wine prices are probably normal for top end dining but 4 x retail a little much…..Highly recommended.
Putting the bottom line at the top for a change of pace: very expensive and well worth it when I can save up enough to eat thereNot only do they have easily the best prime steaks – both wet aged and dry aged – in the Greater Cincinnati area, but I have been very surprised with how well they do everything else. The bread service that is an afterthought at most restaurants is wonderful here, with thick slices of warm wheat and sourdough bread accompanied with a pat made half of high quality standard butter and half of some sort of mushroom butter that I absolutely crave. The sides are uniformly excellent as well. The service is always impeccable. All of the above is true of each of the Ruby’s eateries – Carlo and Johnny and the Precinct – but the differentiator at Ruby’s for me is that they offer true Kobe beef by the ounce (20 per ounce as I type this, with a minimum of 4 ozs), and I believe this is the only place in greater Cincinnati to offer it. Kobe is a much-misused term in this country, and after you do your research on what real Kobe beef is, you will understand why it costs so much and how different it is from all other forms of beef. If you want to try real Kobe beef, I recommend you bring an extra 80 dollars and order it (just one time, for the experience) as a side to share at the table.
A little pricey, but food and service were terrific. Very nice atmosphere and good food that was also plentiful. Some places charge you a lot of money for so-so food and/or good food in very small amounts, but this was a good experience. We even took our 6 week old baby in a carrier and sat her in a booth where she, thankfully, slept the entire time, but all of the staff were very accommodating with her/us which we appreciated.
Great place to celebrate!. We loved the salads, filet and the seabass, wait staff was kind and helpful, and decor was very cool. In honor of our 10th wedding anniversary, we received a complimentary photo and a slice of cheesecake.
Wonderful!!. The evening was to celebrate a 30th birthday. The dining area was cozy, the waiter was extremely helpful and attentive, and the steaks were delicious! We will be back!
? what happened?. Went for a special occasion, my family has always enjoyed but the prices seem to be out of control! The sides were, eh, ok, nothing great. My daughter and I both had the sea bass which was almost raw in the middle. It came with a potato dish that might have been good but it was so overpowered by the bacon served with it that the bacon was the only taste that came through. It also totally overpowered the sea bass, very smoky. So disappointing. Of course, those that had steak were happy and it was good. The wine prices are crazy for bottles, absolutely ridiculous. However, the wine we had was excellent. They gave my daughter a very good chocolate flourless goodie for her birthday that was excellent and my kids are still talking about how great the carrot cake was, wishing they had taken some home. And the salted rye bread was great, too. Final tally? My kids have always been eager to come to Cincinnati from Dayton to go to Jeff Ruby’s but, now, they think we will probably have celebratory dinners in Dayton at Flemings!! Flemings is pretty good tho I don’t like going to Dayton. May give the Precinct a try to see if things are better there?
