it was a Sunday 830 pm for dinner when i got to Metropole. not much commute since i came got 21C.When the bread arrived, I jumped at the suggestion of having it toasted. Then came the burnt carrot salad, an amazing assembly of veggies. the best carrots salad i have ever tasted. It was follwed the roasted beets, well done and awesome. Good collection of wine. The disappointment came in the form of the toasted bread, as it arrived after my salad and wine. Didn’t understand that. Finishing touch with cotton candy. Loved it. Go to the place for the burnt carrot salad. worth it.

Absolutely love Metropole and it’s atmosphere whether you’re sitting inside or on the roof top bar.The drinks and food are outstanding. We have sat at the bar several times just for drinks and sometimes for appetizers. We have also sat down for lunch with our family to celebrate Mother’s Day. We have been on the roof top several times for drinks. Every single time, we have never been let down by the food or the staff, who arewelcoming and friendly. Our waiter always made sure our water was topped off and our bartender answered any drink questions we had.We even stopped by before our wedding ceremony to take pictures on the roof top that was coordinated with management prior. They were very accommodating. We even stopped downstairs at the bar with our bridal party to do a shot of tequila – it was quickly made since we were limited on time.

We had the breakfast room service from Metropole while staying at 21c and it was a yummy end to our stay! I didn’t realize goetta was a Cincinnati tradition. The sausage with oats in it was really good. My husband kept stealing mine because he loved it so much! I got the 21c breakfast with the goetta, two eggs, toast, roasted tomato, and potatoes. The tomato was a nice touch. The eggs and toast were good, but nothing special. Rye toast with apricot preserves was a nice touch. My husband got the seasonal breakfast sandwich with thick bacon, an over easy egg (I think, it was runny, but I didn’t get a good look), arugula, and pimento cheese spread on brioche. The pimento cheese made it something special, even though I wish there was a little more of it. With tax and gratuity, which was required for room service, and water to drink, it was $36 and some change. A little expensive for breakfast, but if you are staying at the hotel, you might as well indulge! Now I am craving some goetta at home!

Basted Cheeseburger!. This place absolutely rocked my socks today! I took my dad for an early birthday lunch and we enjoyed every bit of food we ordered!!We started off by sharing the Burnt Carrot Salad. I would totally recommend sharing this dish because it was huge! (In fact, everything we ordered had generous portions of food.) Although the carrots are cooked, this salad is served cold. The natural sweet flavor of the carrots paired perfectly with the sharpness of the the feta. I also enjoyed the creamy texture of the avocado and the crunch of the pumpkin seeds. For the entree, we each ordered sandwiches and shared. We got the Basted Cheeseburger and the Roast Beef. Both were great! The roast beef was tender and sweet. The swiss cheese provided a salty creaminess and the lightly pickled cabbage gave it a nice crunch and zing of flavor. Now, the burger! This was a friggin’ good burger! The patty alone had great flavor and was super moist. The toppings just took it to the next level – pickled onions, sharp cheddar and thick cut bacon. Both sandwiches came with fries. What the fries lack in crunch, they more than made up for in flavor. Forget the ketchup, these spuds are addictive on their own.I can’t wait to bring my husband to this place. We’ll probably order the same thing all over again!

What happened?. Metropole used to be worth its high regard. Now….the dinner menu items sound so tempting, but the reality lacked both flavor and a wow factor presentation. Cinci has too many other great choices. Hope this one gets it groove back!

Just ok. We have the same restaurant back home and we were underwhelmed. The chicken had zero flavor. The burger was just okay. Not the delicacies we were hoping for.

How can you not love this place. The only explanation I can think of why some of these posts are different from our experience is that they have gotten better with time. We loved our dinner. I had the salmon and my husband had the strip steak. Both cooked to perfection Shared a burnt carrot salad as a starter. Our waiter was perfect. Very nice wine by the glass selection. As we viewed the art, we found the hotel staff very friendly. Were we at the same place? Highly recommend.
