Food is amazing. Highly recommend the paella if you have enough people in your party to swing it. Could easily be split between 2 people if you didn’t order anything else but I highly recommend ordering more than one dish as everything we have tried has been perfect.
Full disclosure on this review…I went with 3 other people, 2 were vegetarian and 1 was vegan. So we didn’t eat any meat or cheese dishes…just be aware of that.We went on a Saturday night at the restaurant was full. We had a reservation for 7:30 and were seating quickly. Someone we knew came in shortly afterward and said they couldn’t get a table until 9:30. So be aware…reservations are the way to go.We ordered 4 tapas dishes (note…there are at least 4 that can be made vegan). The cauliflower was pretty good. The bread was solid (the sauce with it was very good). The plantains were just okay and the sauce with them was a little smoky. And the peppers weren’t bad…but they told us roughly 1 in 10 are spicy, so it’s a little bit of a gamble with them. The 4 of us ordered the paella for the meal. Again, the waiter/cooks went out of their way to make it vegetarian for us (and, they charged us about 33% less, which was outstanding). It takes awhile to make (there is a warning about that on the menu) and it tasted pretty good. It says it serves 2-4…I’d say it’s more like 2-3, but the 4 of us were able to share it.We also had some dessert. The chocolate cake was very rich…maybe a little too rich. But the dulce de leche ice cream with it was outstanding. We also had the apple empanadas. They were delicious, although the ice cream that came with them was nothing special.Prices are a little on the higher side…but for downtown in a big city, it’s nothing unexpected. Food was good, servings were a little small (but, that’s what you expect with tapas). All in all, not a bad experience. Very nice restaurant, great for a dinner with friends. Music was a little loud, but otherwise, very nice.(pictures are the veggie paella and the two desserts we ordered)
I went to Mita’s a week after it had opened. It’s an upscale Latin tapas restaurant with some of Spain’s famous dishes, such as the paella, gazpacho, and tortilla Espanola – which were all very delicious. You cannot go wrong with any of the orders. There were three of us that went and we ordered – 2 tapas appetizers, ceviche, gazpacho, paella, and two desserts. WE WERE STUFFED.Their bar has a great selection from local beers to Spanish wines and beers to delicious cocktails. I also ordered the Sangria Flight which includes a white, rose, and red sangria with different fruits within each – it was a great decision to order it.The atmosphere is very open and modern. Our waiter was friendly and helpful with the menu. Mita’s is definitely pricey and I would recommend going with others so you can share the food and split the bill.
