I’m going to let you in on a little secret. If you already know this, then I guess it no secret to you. My family stumbled on this pizza place a long, long, time ago in a little town called Fayetteville, West Virginia. We were looking for a pizza place and some locals said this was the place. They were right, this was the place. It was the best pizza I had ever had in my life. A local from Cincinnati had started this business and took it to the next level. It was a wood fired oven and so, so, so, good that we ate there 3 times. The crust, sauce and toppings were awesome. We were camping on summersville lake and would make the drive to Fayetteville every night. The place was a dive, the porch we ate on was tilted and I thought it was going to break away from the second level at anytime. The next year we visited they had moved around the corner, but didn’t leave behind the great taste of the pizza. Again we ate there as much as my wife would let us. Then I heard she sold or she let someone buy into the the concept. I don’t know what happened but this one (downtown) is not as good as the one in fayetteville, neither is the one in westchester, not even close. I would give the one in West Virginia 5.0 rating but not these other two.
Pies & Pints, more like Pints & Wait.Experience was just ok here. There’s no argument that they have a massive selection of beers on hand. The service and food was not anything to talk about. We waited almost 40 minutes for a pizza after ordering. When it was brought out, it was just ok, very oily. They forgot the kids pizza. Our kids ended up eating the crust off of ours as they are picky eaters. Finally ten minutes later their plain cheese pizza was delivered. The mgr did apologized and comped the kids meal. But at that point we were done with this place.I had high hopes for Pies & Pints. I know they haven’t been open long at this location. Hopefully they can get it together.
