Went to Prime 47 for Mother’s Day Brunch. Loved the food. Great selection and very good service. The manager greeted us and was very professional. Had a great meal and view with my daughter and grandkids. I was delighted with it all. They made Mother’s Day very special.
We love Prime Cincinnati, the new owners Nelson & Karrol Castillo, have created a beautiful/ relaxed setting, serving some of the most delicious steak & seafood in the city. We highly recommend Prime!
I’ve eaten several times since the new ownership has taken over and it’s much improved. The new general manager seems to always be around and assures you have a first class experience. Its the attention to detail that makes prime 47 a great restaurant.
Don’t waste your money!!!. I don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed in a restaurant. I really want DT restaurants to do well but this place is terrible – I have no idea how it’s gotten ANY good reviews. The place was absolutely empty and the service was not good and nowhere near where it should be for a ‘high-end’ restaurant. The bread seemed like it was from the day before, the salad was fine but the entrees were laughable. My husband’s filet was fatty and mediocre – not worth the $40 price tag and I will happily pay for a great quality steak. My short rib chef special was way overcooked (so burnt I couldn’t eat portions of it) and half of it was fat. No reason this place should stay in business when there are plenty of other great steak places in town. I think we would have been happier to have gone to Applebee’s.
Not worth the time or money. Suffice it to say that dining at Prime 47 was a waste of time and money… service was awful even though they weren’t busy… steak was filled with fat (and we ordered the filet), manager was nowhere to be found… overall horrible experience… we will never be back… we would be surprised if the restaurant is still open for business in six months… there are too many better choices in Cincinnati — Jeff Ruby’s restaurants, Mortons, Embers, etc.
Have to admit I was on the fence about going here with so many mixed reviews; so glad we decided to visit – everything was first rate! From the minute we entered the room, we were treated like royalty – but with not a whiff of stuffiness. Our server and his assistant were attentive to our wants and needs without fawning. Food was absolutely delicious. I had the shrimp cocktail – with sinus clearing cocktail sauce made on premise. He had the crab cake, no filler, just crab. I had surf and turf and my lobster tail was full of flavor. My filet was cooked to perfection. He had the KC strip, blackened and was very happy. We had Caeser salads and split the lobster mac and cheese. All delish! The manager checked on us several times, without being obtrusive. Make a reservation, go and enjoy!
Excellent service and food. We went to Prime 47 based on the recommendation of a friend and a Groupon. The service on this particular Friday night was exceptional. We had full water glasses all night and were checked on often. We ordered a filet and the scallops from the appetizer menu for our mains and were impressed by both. Steak was cooked perfectly to our order. We opted for russet potatoes as our side, these were fine but I think we would pick a different side next time. I especially enjoyed the piano music being played (live) in the bar area, it added a nice background but didn’t require us to scream in order to have a conversation. The vibe in Prime 47 is different then that of Ruby’s so it depends on what you are looking for, but I think that Prime 47 is solid option for a steak dinner in the downtown area.
