Sotto is anamazing restaurant with the best authentic Italian food and in my mind the definition of fine dining. Had the Goat Cheese and Hazelnut Bruschetta, Polenta (with bread), and Baked Pork loin with capers and lemon. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. They have many wines to choose from. The service is the best around. They explain everything, make helpful recommendations and are very attentive. Cannot wait to go back.

Very cool place. Sotto is a dark, wood and brick interior, room underground. Nice size bar and an unmissable smell of a wood burning oven. After stopping at two other Italian restaurants in the area, including one right across the street, and walking out due to horrible service I entered Sotto. I was immediately approached by the manager, Will. He did not have a table but pointed to the bar and said there were open seats and that the bartenders (3 of them) would take care of me. This was not a problem because I was by myself. All 3 bartenders were friendly. I ordered 1/2 a liter of house wine which was quickly delivered. The menu was limited and difficult to interpret. Don’t let this turn you off. Simply ask about the menu. A couple next to me did this and one of the bartenders explained the entire menu with excellent descriptions and expertise. Almost as if he was the chef. This is not the Olive Garden so be prepared to spend some money. Especially for the main dishes. I ordered the Tagliatelle con Tartufo. I have no idea what that is but I do know it was delicious. The tagliatelle was prepared with a black truffle sauce and parmesan. The flavor was rich and intense as one would expect truffles to be. Very woodsy. My only complaint, and this is a common one I have at all gourmet restaurants, is the portion size was small. I could have ate two servings. There are also no sides served. My hunch is that the pasta is probably eaten as a first course before the main dishes. These included a steak that serves various numbers of people from 2-6 (I think), branzino (fish), and a breaded pork tenderloin. The bartender’s description of these dishes leads me to believe that they are probably well worth the price. I will definitely go back if I return to the Queen City in the future.
Loved this place! I set up my sister’s bachelorette party and we ate at Sotto! It’s such a romantic and cozy environment with the lights down low and candlelight lighting. We were put in a semi-separate room so we had a little bit of privacy. Our waitress was amazing! When none of us really knew what the menu was talking about, she just described everything for us and didn’t seem annoyed by our lack of Italian food knowledge. I had the lamb and it was the best lamb I’ve ever had! We all had great dinners and no complaints!
Had dinner here last week with my colleagues. One of them had been there several times before and ordered for all of us. Everything was superb from the starters to mains and dessert. Have to go back !
Very good! Liked the atmosphere and the very speedy service. Staff explained menu because I had no idea what any of it meant and suggested to us their favorites. My boyfriend and I got 1 thing from each course and shared each! Great for a romantic dinner
Best of the best in every aspect. You cannot make a mistake ordering anything on his menu! The decor is top notch along with the staff. This is a definite but visit for anyone looking for a great place for dinner or even drinks and an app!!
