  Nice place!. Being a transplanted New Jerseyan, I had been inquiring around for a diner. Diners are plentiful in New Jersey but rare in Ohio. VERY rare.A friend at work told me about Carl’s Town House and how wonderful it is and about the 50’s dcor. We had an early dinner at Carl’s today. Carl’s is more like what we would call a Luncheonette, in fact, the menu is breakfast and lunch, there are no dinners listed on the menu. There is nothing about Carl’s that resembles a diner.All that aside, we did enjoy our meal and would recommend Carl’s as a nice place to stop for a good meal. We get tired of the chain restaurants and Carl’s was a refreshing change. We will definitely go back (I want to try the hamburgers) next time we’re in Chillicothe.

  I wouldn’t waste my time going in there. If there is no where to sit when you walk in you have stand in the restaurant and wait for someone to get up and the you have to be the first one to sit down at the dirty table and then wait for someone to clean it.We got up and left after one of the workers smarted off to us. Eat anywhere …but here!!!!!

  5 stars. Found this place after calling other downtown restaurants looking for home cooked breakfasts. I then read the reviews here and decided it was a good bet. I wasn’t disappointed-eggs cooked to order, delicious home fried potatoes,coffee refills all in a comfortable homey atmosphere, with good service by Angie. Easy access in a small downtown. Plus, the menu has an informative history of the building and business! Recommended for breakfasts.

  Love Carl’s Townhouse. I’ve been going to Carl’s since I had to be lifted up on the stools at the counter when they were located at their original spot on Paint Street.Get the same thing every time – Hamburger basket. Ketsup and mayo on my burgers. As a kid I got a glass of milk. As a grown up – a coke.I miss being able to go there at will but living in FL now I have to overload myself when I get to Chillicothe every couple of years. Best hamburgers I’ve ever had anywhere. Mouth waters just thinking about those little burgers. Sigh.

  I’m a fan …. It’s a great little diner with a good daily special every day. I go for the cheeseburger basket (with pepper jack cheese) and corn nuggets instead of fries. Always a good experience.
