Very disappointing. This used to have good food, not all the food is frozen, pre made stuff you could get in the Kroger freezer. Sad.
Allyn’s is a great place to get drinks and a bite to eat with friends. It’s not fancy, and it’s not fast food; it makes for a great local alternative to people who may enjoy Friday’s or Applebee’s. The key thing here is the drinks. There is a huge beer selection, and they have started having only local beers on tap. There is an extensive wine list for what it is, and they sell wine (and some beer) in the front end shop.The food is really hit or miss. My guess is there is one competent kitchen lead and then a back up or two that are not as good. I will say, even at its worst, I’ve never been pushed to never come back. Service is also a mixed bag; they tend to cycle through servers faster than any other restaurant I’ve noticed. Service is always polite and prompt, but some servers are better than others.For food, I recommend the Beer Battered Cod, Jambalaya, Cat Fish, and Philly Cheese Steak. None of my friends have complained about the quality of their food in the dozens of times we’ve been there.Overall, it’s a great establishment with an awesome atmosphere. It’s a great place to watch a Reds game or go out and spend the evening on the patio drinking local brews. I like it.

Nice staff. The staff was very nice and very prompt. I wish we could give a nice compliment to the food but we can’t there were four of us and not one of us liked what we had. I had the bourbon chicken or whatever it was called with rice and all I could taste was the extremely sweet sauce and WAY to much of the sauce, we all shared the gator and shrimp appetizer..way to much breading and way overcooked. Overall a big disappointment, they need a little help with the food.
Not the fanciest place in town but a great place to meet up wit friends and have a well priced meal!
Good drinks–not so good food. I would recommend going there for drinks and maybe an appetizer. I have tried numerous dishes there and have not been impressed with anything. Jambalaya is probably the safest bet. Garden Burger, which is supposed to be one of their specialties, was horrible. Atmosphere is nice and service is slow but friendly
Tasty. We ate here a few weeks ago before going down town and really enjoyed it. The beer selection was huge and my husband just couldnt decide on what he wanted, he settled for ‘ Old speckled hen’ an English beer which he loves. We shared a bowl of the jambalaya to begin, which was amazing, we both loved this, and even if everything else had been awful this would be enough to take me back. Luckily everything else was very good, but the jambalaya was so fantastic that we had been spoilt from the get go. The bar atmoshere was lively and the place was busy but the service was attentive and very friendly. We will be back…my mouth is watering now at the very thought of it !!
