This a great place for some amazing quality and exotic chocolates and coffee. The place was suggested by one of the locals and turned out to be a perfect suggestion. Right next to the Findlay market, it doesn’t shout out from the main street, but once you’re in, you won’t listen to anything else apart from the folks there. They make chocolates within in the same premises and you can see all of it – from a distance at least. Great to bring authenticity and freshness to what you’re eating. The staff is great and enthusiastic. We tasted a couple of chocolates and they were great. Bought one of them and this place is certainly to be recommended to anyone who comes to Cincinnati.

Best chocolate in the city and now Hot Chocolate!. Maverick is great–a bean-to-bar shop located right in Findlay Market with little buttons to try before you take home a bar. Yes, they’re not priced like Hershey’s (~$8/bar) but they are worth every penny. I went to buy some bars as Christmas gifts and to my absolute delight Maverick was offering hot chocolate. They take their own dark chocolate (70% I believe) and combine it with milk to make THE BEST hot chocolate I have tasted since a trip to Belgium. Seriously go try it. It is decadent and incredible.

The best Bean-to-Bar Chocolate Outside of San Francisco!. My fiance and I went to San Francisco in November. While we were there, we stumbled across a small batch, bean-to-bar storefront in the Mission called Dandelion Chocolate. They blew my mind. Best chocolate I’ve ever tasted, but it was $10-$12 a bar, (plus shipping to get them to Ohio). We were devastated when we ate our last bar after we got home. We’ve been looking for anything comparable on this side of the country. And, ladies and gents, I’ve found it in this little gem. They had five different bars when I visited Findlay Market (Belize, Dark Milk, Espresso, Chili, and…Costa Rica, maybe?). You could taste all of them if you asked. All of them were insanely good with simple organic, ingredients. The Dark Milk was creamy, deep, and fruity. The espresso bar tasted like earthy, chocolate covered espresso beans (with none of the grittiness). I didn’t taste the chili bar. Belize was strangely dark and light at the same time, with a bright citrus tang to it. the Costa Rican bar (I think it was called something else) was less citrus and tasted more of earthiness and berries. Delicious and complex. Not quite as good as Dandelion Chocolate, but darn close!Best part? When I mentioned Dandelion Chocolate in SF, the people working knew exactly who they were and said that their model was based off of theirs! The people working seemed very knowledgeable and polite. The store was squeaky clean. So, I bought three bars (at $7.95 a piece) and left soooooo very happy. Thank you Maverick Chocolate for feeding my major snooty chocolate addiction!
