Absolutely Fabulous!. Wow! First time but will be back often! Had a groupon and went on a Saturday night – kind of early. Shared chargrilled oysters and house made jalapeo poppers! Both fantastic. I don’t even like oysters and wish I had ordered more. Poppers were cheesy goodness with a bit of heat and bacon. He had shrimp and grits, I had Louisiana shrimp. Both absolutely excellent. My side of red beans and rice was nice and thick. Service was great. Our server paced it all perfectly!
Prime Rib isn’t Prime Rib. My husband and I were very much looking forward to the smoked prime rib. Unfortunately, it wasn’t prime rib. They said it was, but as a former meat cutter, my husband said it was more like a rump roast. There was no marbling in the meat and it was a different texture. I was extremely disappointed. Their shrimp, red beans and rice, and french fries are okay, but I won’t go back for the prime rib.
Great service and food! The pork chop is quite possibly the best chop I’ve ever had. The grits were good but stone ground might’ve been a better choice. The crawfish pie appetizer was also very good. We’ll definitely be back!
Delicious food & friendly service. The blackened pork chop & mac n cheese were delcious! My friend had the pulled pork & liked it. My son recommend we go before a concert at Riverbend. He recommends the jalapeno poppers. The server Barney was very friendly & knowlegeable about the food. We will definitely be back.
Great food and awesome service!. Swampwater Grill offers awesome atmosphere as well as a great selection of Cajun food. I had the blackened Mahi-Mahi platter with Jumbalaya on the side. The Mahi-Mahi was flaky, tender and flavorful, with the perfect combination of seasonings and a delicious cream sauce overtop. The jumbalaya was some of the best I have ever had–meaty, full of interesting flavors, and was complimented perfectly by a little hot sauce. Our server, Evan, was friendly and knowledgable about the menu and had plenty of recommendations on what to try for first-time diners. The atmosphere felt authentic, with great decor and a roomy, comfortable dining area. There was even a huge selection of hot sauces to try on your food. A great casual place to go for delicious, authentic Cajun food or just to sit and have a beer. Cannot recommend this place enough!!
Worst Ribs Ever!!. Had the ribs last Saturday evening and they were the worst I have ever had. I feel they may have had a good flavor if I could have removed the meat from the bone. They were so tough that you couldn’t tear them apart. I am used to the meat falling off the bone or even being easy to remove from the bone. That was far from the case. They took them back and I ordered the shrimp but they were even tough. Will not be back. They did not even offfer to remove my meal and my husband finished his meal way before I even received my replacement. We were referred here by a friend but I will not refer anyone. The waitress was great and the decor was great but the ribs and shrimp, not good.
