Took my wife to Zula for Valentines Day. I was first struck at how small this place is. The tables are very close together and there is a large communal table in the middle of the restaurant. Normally tight arrangements give you a chance to interact with others, but on VDay it just seemed awkward. Even though I had a reservation, we got seated at the community table. Again awkward…we ordered the Funghi mussels and mushroom flatbread. Both were well prepared and very tasty. I ordered the bread basket- I recommend it if you get mussels- to soak up some of the broth. Very good. I will think about coming back with a group, but not for a intimate date.
