Hate to complain….but. I am a former small business owner so I frequent as many small businesses as possible. Unfortunately, one more incident and I’ll be going elsewhere. So, I say this with all sincerity, please, please owners, train your employees.On three occassion your employees , after my having stressed the need for non-caffeine tea, have then given me caffeinated. On the last two occassions I r asked again if the tea was decaffeinated, only to discover that it had been caffeinated. On one of those occassions I also ordered two scones. Your employee came back to the window three times to confirm the flavor of the scones .I was then a little stunned to discover, after having left , that both scones were the wrong flavor …..and I had caffeinated tea . Since the menu is not inexpensive most people will give up pretty quickly so please watch closely. I would hate to see another small business die.
A wonderful afternoon!. My Red Hat group celebrated a birthday at the adorable Branch Hill Coffee Company on Saturday afternoon! We had an absolutely perfect afternoon. The staff was very attentive to our every request. The soups, salads and sandwiches were delicious, and the coffee was just right! I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s looking for a coffee shop with personality and great food!
Yuck. I am a fan of properly brewed coffee and especially of properly made espresso. The espresso at Branch Hill coffee is AWFUL. I have tried the straight espresso a number of times. It is exceptionally bitter, either from brewing too hot or from stale over roasted beans. I always preferred the espresso from Joe’s in Hyde Park or from the BuzzThru while it was open, because the barristas care what the coffee tastes like. Frankly the espresso at Branch Hill is worse than StarBuck’s stale over-roasted over-brewed swill, and not even as good as McDonald’s McCafe mass-consumtion brew.I go to Branch Hill to meet friends some mornings and order the dark roast with LOTS of cream and sugar.to cover up the taste. NOTm y favorite coffee shop!.
Hate to say this… The people here are wonderful, very friendly. However, the coffee is pretty bad.
