New Dickey’s in Mason-disappointing. A new Dickey’s just opened yesterday May 21, 2015 in Mason. My husband and I went there the next day Friday May 22nd. The line was glacially slow. The 1/2 rack of ribs expensive and poor quality (tough and chewy). The pulled pork was OK. The carb sides (baked potato casserole and Mac&Cheese) were flavorless. Even the free vanilla ice cream had no taste. Very disappointed. Won’t last long if they don’t up quality and service speed -especially at the high prices they are charging.
We love Dickey’s and have been multiple times. We love that it’s owned by a local family! As other reviewers have said, this is no cheap eats. However, the price is worth it. It is better than City Barbecue, especially if you love the smoke flavor. The spicy sausage is our favorite. My only complaint has to be the high counter between customers and employees. It does make it feel like a barrier and that the folks working are just there to throw your order together. I think a step up on the customer side would make things feel even and more personal.
