Used to be the Sleepy Hollow, a biker bar before then. It’s a good place to go, try it.
Umm mediocre at best. Most disappointed. Had high hopes on a slow Tuesday early dinner. Service was mediocre at best and food was over priced and not up to par. I had the grouper finger basket with fries. At first I thought I ordered fried fish skin. All flat, no taste and certifiably not grouper. My friend had a bowl of soup and small house salad, edible but not worth the ala carte prices. Sorry we won’t be returning.
Good food/service, but band is way too loud!. I visited Kirby’s for the first time over the weekend with my family. My son and I both enjoyed our burgers which were cooked just right, and my wife was happy with her smoked pork salad. Our server was attentive and took great care of us but there was one major problem, the band in the corner drowned out any chance of having a conversation at dinner. After asking our server if anything could be done about the blaring music, we were moved to a corner of the restaurant located near the bar and the restrooms. The server and a manager apologized multiple times and made sure that we were well taken care of, but the music remained too loud.My family would like to give it another try, but we will need to find a time when there will not be any music playing to interrupt our dinner.
The food and service was great. The owner stopped by our table and was very friendly. I had the shrimp, which was fantastic! My wife had a buffalo chicken wrap which was the best ever! Will definitely come back. The owner is a home town Loveland guy and i hope he does well. Great lunch spot, 8.99 (which includes the drink).
Blah.. Forgettable, and I definitely will, beginning with the servers/bartenders who pretty much could care less if you have a good dining experience. Wait… let me back up and say that I have given this so-so joint multiple attempts just to be average and the final result is a fail in all categories. Most food selections are way off base – trying very hard to taste good, but fail. The place is noisy beyond belief, awkward TV placements, uncomfortable chairs, and a few local drunks at the bar added to my distain on each visit. I did like half of the parking lot, but the other half is a wet gravel topped section so if you do go here (why?), wear old shoes.
UNEXPECTED! I was getting ready for some average food but was impressed with the quality of the food and the freshness. Another huge surprise… the wait staff was on their game. Even with a huge group of rowdy football players after a game… the waitresses were efficient AND PLEASANT… AND tipped over 20% by our group. One of the bar staff wasnt even scheduled and helped out as needed (kate). How rare is that!! A staff who goes the extra step… making sure we had refills… and the checks were correct! I called the restaurant to speak to a manager the next day to give them props and talked to travis (mgr) He took the time to suggest blackened or cajun seasoning for my burger. The atmosphere is loud and casual… just the way it should be!!! Great job kirby’s! Welcome to loveland… we’ll be back!
We liked it. Opened by the guy (Kirby) who runs the Sky Galley at Lunken, this place has some pretty good food for a bar/restaurant. We like the Sky Galley and many of the selections are from that menu. We used to come here when it was Sleepy Hollow – quiet, dark and with all the Christmas stuff. We liked that place a lot and hated to see them close. Kirby’s is totally different – more a bar than a restaurant, bright, open and a bit noiser. Overall I would rate Kirby’s a tiny bit below Sleepy Hollow but that being said, the food at Kirby’s is pretty good and I expect they will do fine at this location.
