Some delicious chicken. I work in the Amelia area and stop by here a few times a month. It is some of the best chicken around. Always hot, and always juicy. I just can’t get enough of the sauce either. Keep up the good work guys!
We love this place! We bring out of town friends here all the time! Chicken tenders are always hot and so tasty! Their signature dipping sauce is a favorite of ours! We even buy the pint to take home!
Used to be good. So I’m a big fan of Raising Cane’s – a chain that tends to show up around college campuses. The first time I tried them was when I went to OSU.Here comes Tender Towne which I randomly saw while driving by and decided to stop by. The first time was great – it was the closest I’ve come to getting big juicy chicken tenders with great fries and a slice of Texas Toast (Raising Cane’s signature – I wonder if this place is modeled off of that chain?).Then I tried it again a few months later. Eh, acceptable but not up to the quality I remembered from my first visit. So I gave it one more shot and it was not good. Tiny chicken tenders, they switched their fries to their horrible thin tasteless ones and it’s just not as good as when they first opened. Their quality and product have gone significantly downhill.Long story short – skip them. They were good when they first opened but I’m not sure if the owners stopped caring or what, but they’re just not worth the price anymore ($9 for 3 tenders, fries, a piece of Texas toast and a tiny side of slaw).
Downhill fast.. Tender Towne started out promising. Huge pieces of chicken, excellent fries which were always hot and fresh. As time goes by however, you get less and less for your money. The chicken tenders are approximately half the size they were and recently they’ve changed from the steak fries to nasty McDonalds style fries. Last time we had those, they were cooked away to practically nothing. It looks like they use a smaller tender for the wrap and sometimes, you’ll get that size in a regular meal. Several times also, we’ve been shorted chicken tenders in our meals and the management are less than apologetic if you call and complain. I noticed the more negative comments on their facebook wall get deleted so criticism doesn’t land well!
Close enough. I was a vegetarian in college, but it was a local chicken tender place that broke me after two years — and man, do i miss guthrie’s. then there’s zaxby’s, which is similar but has an expanded menu. why we can’t get either in this town, well, i just don’t know. was happy to find tender towne — the chicken was pretty good — not quite the level to the other two, but enough to bring me back. the sauce, though, is not what i was hoping for from the classic southern chicken finger sauce (i.e. guthrie’s, zaxby’s or raising cane). the sauce is a little watery compared to those other places and had a taste that was just a little bit off. perhaps not enough pepper. but mostly it was the consistency that threw me off. also, was a little disappointed that they went with steak fries over crinkle cut. still, i’ll be back, because it’s as close as i can get up here.
Good and Tender. Stopped and got 8 tenders.99 cents ea and good size. Also got the sauce.Tenders hot moist and yummy. Love the sauce. Will use it on other stuff..Enjoyed them a lot..
The short version: Tenders are fairly good, but prices are high. I am unsure why Carole thinks the prices are so reasonable here to the point that she highlighted ‘price’ in uppercase. The truth of the matter is that the absolute lowest priced individual combo meal is 5.99, and it is not a lot of food, and they charge 50 cents apiece for *tiny* cups of dipping sauce. That said, the tenders themselves are pretty good, while the sides are meh. It is a new and clean place, and given all the very stylized colors, logos, and menuboards, I’d guess they are looking to franchise – with the Withamsville location being the prototype. Overall – not recommended.
