A Truly Wasted and Ruined Experience and a Let Down. My girlfriend and I were in Cleveland from West Virginia for the Browns game a few weekends ago and I was very excited to check this spot out. I had done my research and clearly this was the place to eat. I cant say that it lived up to my expectations. First off, we were charged a cover to come in and eat, $5 for each of us. I understand that a band was going to be playing later, but I explained that we were eating and leaving. They still charged us. Fact is that I do not know my way around the city and was starving after having not eaten in hours. So, we dealt with this ridiculous BS and ate there anyways. Our table and seat were filthy. Fine, I’ll deal with that as well, as long as the food is as great as I’d read. That didn’t even happen. The dogs themselves were fine, but the toppings on mine were not fresh and really just underwhelmed. Maybe it was just an off night, but when coupled with the door charge, dirty seats and long wait, this was a complete bust. A damn shame as excited as I was for this place and for my first time being in Cleveland as an adult.
Great vegan options that are clearly marked, great waiter and great beer. Just a great place.
So cool. The food here is so good and the beer selection is great! It can get crowded on nights when they have live music but it’s a really neat place that never disappoints.
Wonderful place to hangout .. I love their toppings options they have and I experiment with unusual topping combinations .Its fun to hangout over their and the Simpsons Pinball machine is fun aswell, never got a chance to play it as it is always occupied, but fun place.
Went on a bright Saturday morning to find fridge temperature hot dogs & toppings. Don’t get me wrong, the ingredients were delicious, but I couldn’t help but feel as if I were at an overpriced food cart. $8 for a cold chili dog & tater tots?
A must visit. Happy Dog is a must visit for out-of-towners. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is welcoming. For locals Happy Dog is a no-brainer, of course you would go there. Fun music, great food, reasonable prices. For visitors, the Happy Dog menu is a must see. It is a unique Cleveland experience and should not be missed!
I really liked it. I had the Mobile Homewrecker with Alabama white BBQ sauce, caramelized onions, bourbon baked beans, Andy Capp Hot Fries, and Cheddar cheese, and a copious side of tattertots with Chorizo chili and homemade ketchup and Top Secret Fry Sauce for dipping. Dang good, and a lot of food for under ten bucks. I only wish I ordered one of the many, many beers that are also available. Be warned – they have fifty toppings, but only hot dogs, fries, and tots.
