Food was alright our waitress wasn’t very accommodating and the deserts wasn’t very good stay away from the pies seriously order the turkey sandwich with potatoes and the potatoes cold wife order the fish sandwich and it was over cooked so we didn’t have a good time this time aroundThanks
Our Labor Day super was terrible even though we had reservations fora group of fiveandthe restaurant was not slammed–lots of empty tables. Our water and bar drinks arrived extremely slowly. Our bread and other beverages arrivedonly after the entrees did and only after we prompted the waiter, who was hard to find. The featured meatloaf dish arrived hard as a brick and almost cold, as though it had been recently thawed from the freezer but not reheated properly–and it was also tasteless. My friend’s pork chops wereokay, but herside vegetables were bland and congealed–she couldn’t eat them. Worse, the two us who ingested some of the meatloaf unpleasantly burped it up for hours afterward. We informed the manager in a civil tone of our dissatisfaction on the way out. He acted totally shocked that our experience was less than optimal and made a belated but half-hearted offer to make it right, but the service had been so slow that we were running late for theater tickets and had to leave. He made no attempt to take our names or adjust our bills. I’ve had good experiences with this restaurant in the past, including the meatloaf, although I had not been there recently, so I am at loss to explain this disappointingexperience. With all of the restaurants available to chose from in Columbus, I doubt very much that I will take a chance on this place again. Very, very disappointing.
Tried Cap City with my girlfriend and was pretty blown away in our first visit. We decided to split a pecan pork chop because it was lunch time, we knew we’d be getting dessert, and we weren’t looking to eat too heavy. Even after splitting, the pork chop was fairly large. The pecan topping was amazing, the meat was very tender, and the whole thing was extremely flavorful. The spinach and mashed potatoes on the side were very good as well. For dessert we tried the Big Cup of Chocolate, which is essentially a bottomless pit of chocolate lava cake topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Both my girlfriend and I dug in on the super delicious cake and kept eating scoop after scoop of ice cream and cake…but that big cup of chocolate was truly BIG! We weren’t even able to finish; however, the taste was amazing. Our server was friendly as well, and everything about Cap City was very pleasant!
Fresh lemonades were great!! Loved the shrimp wrap!!
So very disappointed in this Cameron Mitchel restaurant. I have visited this restaurant a handful of times, hoping each was not the norm. Every item of food was bland with the exception of the pork chops, which were fantastic. Unfortunately the service was very slow, friendly, but slow. I had a reservation for Mother’s Day and was shoved in the corner of the diner part directly under a giant vent while walk-ins were given preference. Very disappointing.
