I got a gift at Pickled Swine. A new food truck in the neighborhood and they have a unique and varied menu. Novelty, YIPPEE! A number of my friends and coworkers throw our money in a bag and two scurry off to get our goodies. Mmmmm, goodies. They come back in in a very brief time and they are carrying much less than we ordered. They were out of the order for three of us. The unique and interesting popsicles, goat cheese, cucumber, and fresh corn, they don’t make in the winter and several other entrees were off the menu. Well stuff happens so I got their pickles and an order of their pasta salad. I was intrigued to find my pickles to be rubbery, bland and slightly off color, but my pasta salad was frozen solid and inedible. I may try it again. But it will be after their gift to me, the gift of disappointment wears off a bit.
I recently visited the Food Truck event that was at the Ohio Historical Society. After reviewing all of my options, I decided on The Pickled Swine, and I am glad I did! I had their signature sandwich and it was amazing. My friend got the crab and rice soup and it was awesome too. I will definately look for them at the next festival.
