It was our first visit to Deweys pizza. It will not be our last. After looking over their impressive selection of specialty pizzas, my fianc and I were feeling adventurous and decided to get a pizza without red sauce, the Dr. Dre. It came with bacon, red onions, green peppers, jalapenos, and chopped tomatoes with a ranch drizzle after baking. The dough of the pizza was baked until crisp, but still pliable. The outer crust had a crunchy outside and fluffy inside, not dense at all. The toppings were generous, uniformly scattered, and of high quality. I particularly enjoyed the handling of the bacon, which was crispy and plentiful. I expected little to no bacon on the pie, but I was delightfully wrong. I was disappointed that they didnt have any appetizers. After the pizza had arrived, it didnt matter as much, but I would have liked some bread sticks to try their red sauce in. Ill have to go back for the red sauce in the future. Then the service was really top-notch. We had an extremely warm welcome, with recommendations of menu items and drinks, and a reciting of the specials. We just went with water to drink. It came out with a wedge of lemon. The staff kept filling the water up every time it was empty with little to no wait time. When the pizza arrived, they stopped by and asked if everything was going ok several times, very attentive staff. The experience at Deweys was a great one. I would recommend this pizza to anyone. The service is outstanding. I cant wait to try the other pizzas on their menu.
Excelent. Let me start out first by saying I am first generation Italian, owned my own pizza house and restaurant for 20 years. I would say their pizza is the best thing to happen to Dayton in years as far as pizza goes. With any pizza judging there are three things most important to a great pizza and they are the crust or dough, sauce and fresh ingredients. Deweys excels in all three. Dont forget about service. And being in the restaurant business for 30 years I know your wit staff and managers make or break your business. Well their staff was more than helpful and accommodating. The manager checked on us every time we were there and the waitress were very attentive.
Don’t get what people like about their pizza…the pizza has no flavor whatsoever. I agree with the other person who said you can get the same non-tasting pizza in 20 other Dayton area pizza places.
Finally! After living in the Dayton area for three years, we finally found a pizza place! I agree with a previous reviewer – if you like Marion’s, this is NOT the place for you. But if you enjoy eclectic flavors and fresh, high quality ingredients, you will find that this is easily the best pizza in Dayton!
Family Favorite!. My family and I love Dewey’s Pizza. We always take our out-of-town guests here. The atmosphere is upbeat and lively. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. We love all their gourmet pizzas, salads, calzones and beers on tap. It’s a fun place for kids and adults alike. I believe they are opening a new location in Centerville. Stopped in for Lunch and this is a great local pizza shop. The service and facility are top notch. The salad and pizza was some of the best I have had. The red sauce is spicy and the crust is better than most breadsticks. Ask for extra sauce on the side for the pizza crust it is great.
I love a pizza with meat on it and red sauce, but Dewey’s has me hooked on their Billy Goat pizza. No meat, just veggies and a very delicious white sauce. I will be returning 🙂
