Cool place! The signature drink Salar was clean and smooth. Chicken chicharones were nice and crispy with great sauce.Duck ravioli was duck meets mushroom bed. Great depth of flavor.
Hands down my favorite spot in town. Stylish, contemporary yet casual and relaxed. Superb decor and ambiance. Want to make a memorable evening? Dine here. Macchu Picchu Pork Chops = food for the gods… Professional wait staff, bar staff and a fun atmosphere. Any place that serves parsnip soup (only at a restaurant week event) is going to keep my attention. It was so delicious, so delicious. Need to meet someone somewhere for a short business meeting? Siddle up to the main bar at Salar. They have a wide variety of dining spaces, each with a unique feel but yet still very connected aesthetically. All around winner. Best nice restaurant in town on all accounts. Go. Go. Just Go.
Found Salar Christmas Eve and was very impressed with the service and food! We’ve been back a couple times and have always had excellent service, food, and overall experience. I highly recommend the Peruvian seafood rice!
Great night out. We were very impressed all around. My family and I went for my wife’s birthday and had a wonderful dinner. Our server did a great job of knowing the menu and was very pleasant. The food was well prepared and delicious. We would recommend Salar to anyone.
The best place in Dayton. Food, wait staff and ambience is too of the line. We have dined there several times and have brought out of town guests there as well. The food is perfectly prepared and wine suggested by our waiter was spot on! The dining experience will remind you of a bigger city feel like Chicago or Atlanta.
We went for our anniversary. I made reservations easily online. We were sat immediately and greeted by our server. I ordered a Moscow mule and my husband had a beer. My drink was superb. Our server asked us if we had questions about the menu. It was a little disappointing since we just heard another server going over many of the menu options with another table. My husband ordered the ribeye and I asked the server about the lamb shanks. She told me it was a large serving and the reduction was very tasty. I decided on that. We were asked if we wanted an appetizer. We usually don’t get them, but love empanadas so we decided to try them. SO GLAD we did. The empanadas were fabulous. They came out without a dipping sauce but with powdered sugar dusting. The filling was savory and meat so tender. The sweetly dusted pastry was a delicious contrast to the savory filling. Our entres came out with a nice presentation. My husband ordered his steak medium. His first cut looked well, next medium, next medium rate. I had never seen a steak so oddly cooked. My lamb shanks were very tender. Unfortunately there was very little taste to it. I shook salt on in 3 times before I got it to have flavor. The creamy barley reminded me of oatmeal. It didn’t have any flavor either. The side of roasted carrots were tasty. Our entrees were such a disappointment after such a fabulous appetizer.
Valentine’s Day dinner was a hit at Salar! We’d never been before, so we tried apps, salads, entrees, and desserts. Most everything was very good, our favorites being the quinoa crusted sea bass and the trout special. The smoked onion dressing in the Salar salad was unique and awesome. My daughter’s grilled beef skewers were okay, but nothing special. Other dishes were all pretty good, but what will bring us back is the seafood offerings and the service. One suggestion: if dining during cold weather (below freezing) ask for a table away from the door and windows. I had to keep my coat on throughout the meal.
