Love the wine selection and Wed tastings. The food has been decent, not amazing but not terrible. The service is terrible. Don’t put out the Please Wait to be Seated sign if the staff is just going to ignore you and leave you standing there (when there are plenty of open tables). When you do get seated, the servers act like you’re bothering them when you want something. Basically they need totally new waitstaff.
Excellent!. We enjoyed many bottles of wine and enjoyed the steaks. delicious!
I’ll go back for the wine. The staff was friendly although our waiter was not very good. He poured our wine in a very messy way and we felt like he couldn’t wait for us to leave. The food was ok, we ordered rare steaks and they came out almost well done. That was disappointing. The wine prices were not bad.
Casual customer. Always had been a casual customer of the Wine Gallery at their old location but finally made it to the new spot. The menu is greatly expanded and loved the wine prices! We started out with the baked brie and the eggplant caprese. Both items were very good. We ended up getting a strip steak and a chicken parm as entrees. I don’t think I have ever a steak in any Dayton restaurant cooked as well! The chicken was also very good. For dessert we had the coconut bread and the wine poached pear, which were excellent. Our server Dawn helped us make some great choices! She was very friendly. Sorry to say I’ve been missing out on the Wine Gallery for so long but will definitely be back!
I love this place. The wine flights are the best deal in town and I highly recommend the baked brie appetizer, the prime rib sandwich or the pizzas. I bring people here from out of town relatively often and they’re always impressed with the quality of the food and the variety of wines available by the glass. The selection changes roughly every month. Some reviewers have said they thought the staff was unfriendly, but I disagree completely. The environment is casual and the staff is helpful. I’m no wine expert, so I appreciate that they are always willing to make recommendations. The patio is really nice when the weather cooperates, too.
Horrendous Service!. I’m still reeling from the horrible experience my friends and I encountered here last night. I was appalled at the rudeness of the staff who were providing us with substandard and inattentive so-called service. We were greeted rudely, acknowledged like we were going to have perhaps a few tastes of wine and then leave, our so-called server sat at the bar having her dinner while the rude host/server jumped in in a huff to take our dinner order. We had to ask for napkins and another glass of wine -not at any point were were greeted with a smile and asked how anything tasted. When our initial server returned to the table to ask about our checks, she had no clue that groucho had completed our transactions. Unacceptable. Not one thank you for joining us tonight, and I need to mention that although this was after the Ghost and Goblin 5 K these ladies did not have a full house and were not too busy to be attentive or nice.Kudo’s to the chef -the pizzas were very good -that’s the only positive thing I can report here in addition to the Merlot -it was good. Our other friend had the Cab-Sauv which she liked. I can’t return here- I still have a bad aftertaste.
Raw Meet on Sandwich. This has been one of my favorite restaurants in Dayton but it just dropped to the bottom of the list. To the point, they served both of our prime rib sandwiches with raw meet in the middle, not under cooked, raw. Our waitress was polite, I’ll take it back and we can remove it from your bill. The problem is, if you serve someone raw meet maybe you should have the manager come out an apologize, maybe offer something complimentary to make up for it, I don’t know, try and keep the customer. I wouldn’t have accepted anything, but a gesture is nice. How can you not have a clue about proper customer service and run a restaurant. I’ll never return.
