We won’t be back, unless its just for drinks on the patio. We really wanted to like this place… Its a cute old restaurant in downtown Delaware. they have their own parking lot in back with street parking in front. the restaurant is pretty large and all of the staff were super nice. the menu has a lot of typical bar food, but also had a few items we didn’t expect. the five of us made our choices and had high hopes. until we saw food coming out to the tables around us. nothing looked particularly good and then we noticed almost every patron besides us were senior citizens. there’s nothing really wrong with that, other than the fact that they typically don’t know good food. case in point: any bob evans on earth. anyway, our food came and it was just what we thought. the server had recommended the fish and chips and it was awful. actually the fries were very good but the fish tasted like it came out of the frozen aisle at Kroger. the burger was very salty and they never asked how we wanted it cooked. I cant recall what else our table had, but I know none of it was good. I am sad to say we will not be back to eat at Buns. however, we will be back for drinks in the summertime because they have an amazing patio area.
Nice Selection; Friendly Service. A friend and I met for lunch today at Bun’s Restaurant. Even though it was raining, we were able to sit on their lovely patio area. The menu had a nice variety of selections. I’m following a strict diet at the moment and the server was very knowledgeable in helping me with my order. I had the Greek salad with no feta and added shrimp. The salad dressings are made in house, and are fresh and healthy. My friend had one of the day’s specials – a spinach salad with salmon. Both salads were good and plentiful.
