A quaint, but somewhat large, Italian establishment in Dublin. Was impressed by the professionalism of the staff, who also have the ability to write their names upside down on the large paper provided as the tablecloth, and where guests are expected to doodle while they wait for their meal. Tried the Beef Lasagna which was a bit too oily but met expectations. Prices are quite reasonable, and it is a convenient restaurant to visit as it is open at all hours (does not close at any time during the day).

Our Family Experience. We decided sort of at the last minute to celebrate Mother’s Day at this restaurant, so we were happy just to find a place to eat. Everyone was very nice and we had very good service. However, the food in my humble opinion is over priced and not very good. I ordered lobster stuffed ravioli. It came out served cold, and the chunk of lobster on top of the ravioli was very tough. The pomadoro soup I had tasted like watered down tomato soup with chives and small chunks of tomato, and very salty, also served cold. My husband ordered the Italian Bake. He said it tasted like a frozen off brand dinner. The pasta was not completely done, and was not enough sauce which made it dry. Then my mother and brother’s mother- in- law ordered The Calabrese Steak. The meat was so tough, it took them 3 minutes to chew it. The veggies that came with the dish were cold. The meat had no seasoning it was just grilled. I guess the herbs and spices on the veggies were supposed to suffice. My brother, nephew, sister-in-law, and niece appeared to be enjoying their food, or else they were just extremely hungry. I then ordered the lemon cake. It was soggy, and the actual cake had very little flavor, the icing was pretty tart, and the whipped creme tasted like some off-brand mixture or something…I didn’t like it at all. The overall experience and consenses from everyone if rating, and 5 was the highest, I’m sorry to say but I gave it a -1.

Dissed by waitress in front of family. I am a 50-year-old mother, taking out my mother and children on Mother’s Day. The waitress pushed more and more food on us to increase the bill, which I went along with, to an extent. When I asked for 2 glasses of wine for myself and my mother, the young waitress suggested we get a whole bottle. When I ask for 2 glasses, that is what I expect to be served. She said I should get the whole bottle, sit here and get sloshed in front of the kids, and take the rest home in an open container in my car, an act that I am sure would get me arrested. I said never mind, forget the wine. She did not seem to understand that I am the paying customer who decides what we order. I will not be disrespected by a 20-year-old in front of my family!

Best focaccia. Good food, attentive wait staff and reasonable prices. The Penne Rustica and Veal Saltimbocca are my favorites. Their focaccia, warm from the wood fired oven and served with very nice fragrant olive oil is the best. I can make a meal of the focaccia alone.

Showed up tonight at 9:05pm. The manager said they closed at 9 tonight so they could do some cleaning. He was very gracious and seated me and a had a wonderful meal.

Following up… Food (chicken Parm) was cold and waiter was inattentive. I recommend you pass – too many other good Italian restaurants.15 Apr, 2011Stuck at a too small table and a broken chair. Ridiculous
