True Cincy chili – but it’s thicker, meatier, and not watery as most of the chains have around the area. Packed full of those familiar notes of Cinnamon, allspice and clove. Steamed buns, good dogs and even portions make it one of the very best examples of a Coney in the city. Their burgers are huge.. the Big John is a monster of meat and certainly doesn’t disappoint. All-in-all this place has great food in a classic diner setting- be aware of the odd hours if you’re stopping in 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays. Definitely some of the best diner food in the city.
Always Great. I’ve been going here every so often throughout my entire life (of forty-some years). I have always loved their chili (and other) items. I was just recently remarking to someone that I thought that their coneys (the item that I usually get from there) are better than those from the bigger brand name versions from both Gold Star and Skyline. I only wish that it was possible for them to be open for more hours each day than their standard 9 am to 2 pm Monday through Friday. However, there are only two people — a brother and sister — that work there now (down from the original larger Greek family that started this place many decades ago).
