Great food. This little gem is a great addition to Sandusky. I had one of the very best pasta chicken lunches I have ever had a few weeks ago but it was the special of the day. This restaurant is also a bar so you never know who or what will be sitting in that area. The few high top tables are nice or ask near the window.it is definitely worth at least one trip.
Horrible, horrible service. Even though we have dined at Zinc several times, none of the regular staff recognizes us. The service last night was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. I am a frequent business traveler and therefore, dine out a lot. Our waitress was totally disinterested in making our dining experience memorable. For example, the baguette ‘ that was in the oven and would be brought out shortly’ wasn’t served until the entrees arrived and we inquired about the bread. The response was….I will get it from the oven. This was twenty minutes after being told it would be right out. The bread was cold and disappointing!!!!!! All inquiries about food and dessert, etc. we’re delivered in a disinterested manner. It appeared our waitress had one thing in mind….give me my tip and I’m done with you!!!!!!
Found this on trip adviser and thought we would give it.a try. What a little gem if you are ever find yourself in sandusky go here. The food.is famtastic the wait staff are excellant and very knowledgeable. A lovely experience altogether.
Love this little French Bistro. I frequent the Zinc often and the wait staff will learn your name after a trip or two. Zinc caters to people who enjoy fine food and Foodies know that you you have to pay a little more to get innovative and creative cuisine. I have never considered the prices to be outrageous but they do factor in a high quality. You want french fries and a patty melt, go somewhere else. If you want a roasted beet salad with some lobster macaroni with truffles, this is your place. Of course they have an ever-changing wine list that is reasonable by the glass or by the bottle. Lunches are a bit more casual, gourmet roasted chicken on a baguette with artisinal cheese, for example. I have never found Zinc to be stuffy and everyone I’ve ever brought here has been beyond pleased with their experience.
Very nasty.. Overpriced for the little portions. Wait staff acts like they are the bomb and the bartender will deliberatly ignore you when you are 3 feet away. A true classic French bistro provides professional service and good sized portions for the hefty price. Even in France I’ve never been to a bistro where the staff was so rude and sported visible biker/skull tattoos!
I moved from Palm Springs, CA to Sandusky and live a block from Zinc. This restaurant has amazing food! It is always busy and the decor is great. When I have visitors, Zinc is where I will take them. Love the extend wine menu. The owners and staff are very nice an they do a great job running the place. I always order off there specialty menu, usually seafood and it’s delicious. If your ever in town, try this place. Favorite item… Lobster Bisque!
