Neat little local coffee shop next to the University of Findlay. My family and I like to stop in and grab a cup of coffee and sit in the library like atmosphere. A large selection of random old books like the walls and shelves of the sitting area. Coffee is above average. Worth a stop if you are looking for a unique coffee or tea experience.
George House is kinda ..cool. There are plenty of seats in the old library section, and there are just as many beverage choices (coffee and teas, alike). The staff is friendly and fast and they are knowledgeable about their products which makes them happy to make recommendations. My personal favorite right now is a Brown Sugar latte, but check their board for rotating flavors and specials.
Always happy to stop here in between classes and work! Friendly hard-working staff and excellent food. Many of the items are fair trade and/or organic. Lots of vegan options for me to enjoy. 🙂 I love their hazelnut americanos and my hubby loves the white mochas!
Try it in Findlay, Ohio. My chicken salad on croissant was very good. The coffee in a George House oversized cup was delicious. We were surrounded by college students studying or chatting quietly. This is a pleasant stop for travelers or locals. Nice people! And you might find that used book you want to read.
Not what I expected.. I went into George’s Coffee thinking it would be a cute little coffee shop, boy was I wrong. The place was so quite (even though there was a lot of people there) I felt like I was walking into a library and not a coffee shop. I wanted to order one of there advertised lattes only to be told they didn’t have the syrup anymore, without bothering to look to make sure. I’m glad there are other coffee options for me when I visit Findlay.
At least it’s local. Local coffee shops all trumpet that they are not Starbucks. Neither is George House. The knowledgeable and attentive staff serves a range of coffee creations. The drip coffee is satisfactory but the Americano is downright not; it is drip Folgers. One particular surprise was the Mocha Royale, a better than Caramel Macchiato drink. Atmosphere is typical College-Across-the-Street fare with wifi and little seating.
Great place to meet up with friends. The university of findlay is just across the street. I love that they now have open mic night. I was here for their first one and I loved it. Can’t wait for the next one.
