This place has not been reviewed in several years and its time for an update. Atmosphere is dull and tacky. Music was good until an ad came on over the radio talking about how their menstrual period was like hitting a piata. Free chips and salsa is nice but the salsa is watered down and fairly tasteless. Service was decent until they brought the food and the server dropped some of the food in my lap. He didnt say a word to me and kept on going. My wife ordered a beef taco that had no beef (see photo). The food was barely warm and seemed heated up by a microwave. In summary, this place is not worth your time or money. Unfortunately, Findlay does not yet have a solid Mexican place.
Great place and food. The food at la Charrita is great at a very reasonable price. The people are friendly and helpful. Fridays and Saturdays live singing with Lucia is a good time. Will recommend anytime. Thanks
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!. This place is on death’s doorstep. I have watched it decline for years. We went there for lunch today. They now have turned off the majority of the lights except in one area where they cluster the people stupid enough to go in there, (myself included), under a few lights in one area. Its like eating in a condemned building. They now have signs telling you that you will be charged for additional chips and salsa. No worries, the salsa was tomato sauce with some hot sauce tossed in it, it was GROSS and we didn’t eat 1/10 of it. The chips were stale. They have removed all of the condiments from the tables. I ordered a $12 combination dish and all the food tasted like GARBAGE. The burrito was inedible and I swear it was stuffed with what tasted to be dogfood. My lunch partner tasted it too and spit it out into a napkin. They are obviously in financial turmoil and literally everything shows. Mark my words, avoid this place at all cost, it will be out of business very shortly. Beyond nasty.
I’ll never go back to LaCharita. Tonight was my first time at La Charrita, and I’ll never go back. The food was okay, but not great. The service was HORRIBLE! No refills on drinks, and the waitress kept asking for our plates while we were eating. She cleared them, then came back and took away the chips and salsa as we were still munching. We asked to keep them, but she still took them. Then she started to vacuum right next to us. This would have been understandable had it been closing time, but it was at 7, and they don’t close until 9:30. Unacceptable.
The food is great . Service is wonderful the owners come and greet you while you are witing for your food to arrive. The menu has many opions. Their food reminds me of what a good home cooked mexican meal taste like. I really love their fajitas nacho. My family and I have been going to La Charrita for a few years now and there is no other resturant we would go to for real authentic mexican food.
