Open tables but their full??. I don’t understand the seating policy. You can’t make reservations for parties less than 8. So a party of six won’t get seated for an hour because everyone coming in during that hour is a party of 8? Hmm looked like they weren’t full. A big room upstairs which isn’t used until later in the night. At 6:00, we would have been long gone by 9:00. Seems like they don’t want to be full or they only want large groups. We came a long distance to end up eating across the street. Happened more than once. Really a shame they don’t have good seating management or not enough employees.
The barmaid is HOT but I degress…. I was hesitant to visit after reading some of the reviews but I was pleasantly pleased. We ate lunch on a weekday so the negative reviews for evenings and weekends might still hold true. This visit gets a 9 out of 10.The Hostess, servers and barmaid/server (Did I mention that Kerry is smok’n hot?) were friendly and energitic. The staff was well trained and met all the needs of the patrons. The food was great and the decor made you think you were in Dublin (or Belfast depending on your religous or political ideology.)Definately needs another visit during the evening hours.p.s. If you fancy hard cider, skip the american attempts, and head straight for the authenic Magner’s.
I don’t know where the negative reviews came from on here, I was in Findlay on business and thought this bar/restaurant was one of the few shining gems. The bartender was quick with a joke or a suggestion and their chowder was sublime. The corned beef and cabbage fell apart but wasn’t dry. I would highly recommend all.
Delicious Irish Coffee.. One of my favorite places to eat in Findlay. Everything has always been delicious. Lunch service is a little slow, but it is a pub and pretty much dead during lunch on week days. Amazing Irish coffee and a long list of whiskeys.
Criminal service interrupts the quaint bar feel. You read this reviewer because you want the truth and so I must be pretentiously ambivalent about this Main Street Findlay, OH Gaelic gem. The locals talk about the huge cash investment the owners made with Northwest Ohio pride. And it shows. Beautiful is the simple way to put it. Gorgeous wood, stained glass (real!) and non-kitschy Ireland feel is absolutely ruined by slow service. Did I say I waited a long time? Sarcasm aside, the food is great. The apps are clever ( start with the fried artichoke hearts) and the entrees are real. Real shepherd’s pie, real corned beef. And the reuben is a MOUNTAIN of beef. Oh so good and worth checking out. Make sure you go when there are no waitstaff to ruin the experience with the very definition of sluggardly.
Gotta Try It!. Fantastic! From the Calamari to the Firsh and the Bangers, everything we had this evening was fantastic! The service was terrific, the atmosphere pleasing, cost was reasonable but the food was fantastic. Definitely at the top of our list from now on! Guiness draft was as great as when I tried it in Scotland.
If you like a selection of traditional Irish fare, this the place to go. Well prepared and tasty. Great beer selection. Nice atmosphere. Go with a group.
