  The tearoom experience. The Swanhouse Tearoom was a great experience. The teas were superb and the food delicious. However, I must say there were a few things that were disappointing. A friend of mine visited the tearoom several years ago. The women were dressed in period clothing. When we went they were not. The girls working there we dressed nice, but were almost unaware of the time period the tearoom represented. They were young and not as professional as I would have liked. The food was excellent and more than what we thought. However, my friends and I were a little surprised that something as common as ham salad sandwiches were served. The crusts were removed and there was a double layer of filling, but still, it was ham salad! The decor was rather boring. Not much on the walls or to look at. There were photos on the wall over the fireplace-less mantle. These appeared to be family members. I felt this was totally wrong for a victorian tea room. Since there was not much else on the walls to look at, the eyes were constantly drawn back to those pictures. Had the photos been done in a sepia tone or a style reminiscent of that era, it would have been fine. And last, the bathroom was very dirty. The baseboards were thick with dust and dirt. This should be one of the cleanest rooms in the house, next to the kitchen. Overall, it was a good experience, but for the price, could have been much better.

  Swan House Tea Room – Findlay. This place is enchanting 🙂 The atmosphere was wonderful, the service was delightful and the tea and food were exceptional!! We loved it!
