Good food, cool atmosphere, good drinks. One of the better fine dinning experiences of findlay. The only problem is you will easily spend $100 for a couple of meals. I just don’t know if it’s that good.

Good food, poor management. Beautiful atmosphere and presentation. As more of an upsale style restaurant, there were 5 entree options. The wait staff is friendly; our server didn’t know ~50% of the questions we had about the menu but admitted she was newer and always asked for us.Decided on the filet ($31). I am unable to have the typical side of whipped potatoes, so asked to substitute for rice. Sure no problem…but it’ll cost you: $8 for black rice, or $6 for Jasmine. To substitute! When ordering, wait staff asks ‘soup or salad?’ I chose the house salad. Delicious. My guest chose soup. Also delicious. Entrees were great flavoring — although filet was overcooked. Ordered medium..definitely med-well. Then came the bill, upcharged for the rice (which we were hesitantly aware of.) Also charged for the soup instead of the salad which was not told to us. When asked, the manager who apparently also duos as head-chef came out. He was rude and argumentative from the get-go. Not a way to treat guests who have a question. I’ve been in restaurant business for 7 years and customer service for 15 years. Not how you approach a situation. Our honest impression is they try to run up your bill and are poor at accommodating guest requests. Sad because the food is great, but that’s not all the makes a restaurant succeed. We were in on a Saturday night from 630-745pm and were one of four tables. That says something!Upon returning home, read some other reviews on various sites which had similar experiences. The most shocking was that couples were automatically charges 20% gratuity. This did not happen to us, but coincides with our ‘up charging’ experience. So beware!

The building is darling although all of the hard surfaces lend a bit noisy atmosphere. The service was friendly and prompt without hovering. The food was delightful and priced accordingly. I’ll come back.

Seriously Bad. There are certain expectations that we all have when white table cloths are adorned with candles. Unfortunately, The Gathering doesn’t meet them. I had excitedly ordered the creole pasta but all I can say is that at least the noodles were cooked properly. The crayfish was dry and tasteless, and the sausage was just greasy. The only real flavor in the meal was the overpowering sauce that attempted cover up the boiled vegetables. What made my experience even worse was the fact that I was charged $2.00 extra for requesting a different dressing on the utterly weak house salad. I feel truly sorry for the excellent waiting staff that must deal with such terrible policies and cooks.

My husband and I, found this wonderful restaurant by accident. We are thrilled that we did. We love fine dining and this place is fine dining at its best. Our experience was terrific. Our server, Jordan treated us to the VIP experience. Anything we asked for, it was ours. The chefs were all fantastic. The food was top-notch, with exceptional taste and quality. The best seafood in town. The best moscato champagne, I’ve ever had. Simply the best dining experience we’ve ever had. We are ecstatic to return for my husband’s birthday. The best restaurant in Findlay, Ohio.
