Expected better food after how great the chips and salsa was. Had the big burrito on special and it was mediocre. Appears to have been made in a microwave with how the cheese was burned around the edges. A microwave shouldn’t e used in a Mexican establishment. Mexican cuisine is quick to make take the extra minute and skip the microwave
I love El Rancho. The food is delicious, the drinks are strong, and the staff is very friendly. Family run and community orientated. I would recommend it to anyone.
What to get. Friendly staff, nice ambiance. The top shelf margaritas are THE BOMB! Also must try the HUGE shrimp cocktails in a glass the size of your head!06 Jul, 2012What to eat…. I WILL tell you, the gigantic shrimp cocktail is divine.. And the top shelf margaritas are as well. This is a different style of Mexican than I’m used to. Some like it, some don’t. I tried the chicken mole, and it had bones that got in my mouth when eating it, and with the sauce, you pretty much had to pick apart the chicken with bare hands to get out the bones… not easy to do. Maybe a boneless breast would be better! I have a friend who likes the wet burrito here.
Great service. Really great margaritas. Like spicy food? Ask for the pork with red sauce, spicy. I dare you.

Excellent authentic Mexican food! Housemade chorizo sausage, tortillas, and more. Today I had garden fresh tomatoes on my dish, and the food was amazing. Can’t get enough!
