Ehh…. My husband and I left the movie theater in search of dinner and this was the closest restaurant so we gave it a try. Honestly, we didn’t know what we were getting into. It was fancier than we expected and therefore much more expensive with a fairly small menu. We contemplated leaving a few times but felt awkward doing so. It took our waiter a long time to come to us so we had an opportunity but didn’t want to wait. The food was good. I would give it an 8/10. I just feel like there are many more options for the same price or less at a place like the Cheesecake Factory. I just don’t see the point in getting 2 waters, 2 dinners, no dessert and paying more than $40, close to $50 with a tip…. Go elsewhere and save your money!
Yummy/overpriced. If you’re willing to pay extra for the best pubstyle sandwich or a meatloaf dish on top of mounds of mashed potatoes, then this is the place to go. The times I’ve eaten here, it’s been busy. But the food rewards are worth the wait. It’s never been an extremely long wait…just can’t drop in and expect fast service. Expect to pay more for what you’d pay for the same menu item other places though.
Great food but way overpriced.
Disappointed. Wait staff was great but rest was lackluster. I had fried chicken dinner…although mashpotatoes tasted good they were served Luke warm and the gravy was meh. Fried chicken was fine but I make better; nothing special. Pan beans were surprisingly the best–fresh flavorful and not over cooked. My wife had turkey Reuben which consisted of large grilled dry bread with, two pieces of turkey and literally a tablespoon of coleslaw. Mine was average and not up to par, hers was downright bad.
No Thanks. After trying one last, final time at the Cap City in Gahanna, it once again failed miserably…and I won’t waste my money and time again. I ordered a Caesar salad, with a point of it being LIGHTLY dressed. See the photo attached. Needless to say, I didn’t eat it. Hubby ordered the pretzels and cheese. The pretzels were salted and browned nicely, but, they were lukewarm…at best. The dipping sauces were bland and a disappointment. We shared the meatloaf dinner, minus the fried onion rings. The meatloaf has a nicely seasoned flavor, but again, it was served lukewarm. Seriously, the plates the dinner was served on was hotter than the meatloaf…and the mashed potatoes. Portion sizes are large. On the plus side, the rolls served before dinner and the iced tea are very good. Service was poor. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. Parking is good. Will not recommend or return.
I’ve been to Cap City for dinner and lunch before but this is the first time I went for brunch. Delicious brunch cocktails, I had the Pineapple Bellini. Amazing cinnamon rolls for the table to share! I got the Classic Eggs Benedict which was good, the rosemary ham was delicious and I’m not a ham fan typically. The eggs were a little overcooked and the hollandaise didn’t seem from scratch but overall the dish was still good. Great service and fun atmosphere!
Beautiful, relaxing & a good deal. We went to Cap City for the first time as an early Valentines Day dinner out. The place inside is beautiful, spotlessly clean and comfortable. These are the places I like best… classy but not dressy with excellent food at a reasonable price. Our waitress was Casey & she was great. Can’t say one negative thing about this place. Suggest you try it out… you’ll like!
