First time at El Cholula. We just had lunch at El Cholula and had a wonderful time. First impression, the decor was fun. Sitting down, our booth was very clean and the menu was full of interesting selections. The waiter was very pleasant and helpful, explaining the selections. The food came promptly, was nicely plated, and was delicious! This was our first time to El Cholula but we will be coming back regularly now and will tell our friends. Glad to have them in our neighborhood.

Delicious and relaxing!. My daughter moved to Cincinnati several months ago and was craving Mexican food. I was visiting and had seen El Cholula along the road as I traveled to other places along Montgomery Road. We decided to give it a try. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated in a very comfortable booth. I am a larger woman and the booth had plenty of room – I didn’t feel stuffed in it like in some restaurants. My daughter had a combination plate and I had the chicken with peppers and onions over rice like I have at the Mexican restaurant in my town in Kentucky. We both enjoyed our meal! I had enough left over for my lunch the next day. It was very tasty and we also enjoyed the chips and cheese dip we ordered. The owner came by to check on us, as did another employee and our waitress. There were only a few other booths taken when we were there, perhaps a little earlier than most people eat in the Cincinnati area, and it was on a weeknight. We had a very relaxing, delicious dinner and will definitely return in the future.

Not Yet Ready. We had the worst experience at a Mexican restaurant here tonight (Friday). The place was busy, but there was no wait for a table. Chips were plentiful, but not very flavorful. Salsa was good. Server was attentive. Soft drinks were refilled before the glass was empty.Ordered chili con queso as an appetizer. After a very long wait and after asking the server, we received our appetizer. It was gray finely ground bland beef with white cheese sauce on a tostada. After a much longer wait, our food arrived including another chili con queso. (By the way, everyone around us was waiting for food.) The server was apologetic, but it was of little comfort. I have never waited such a long time at a Mexican restaurant. My wife had a chicken taco salad. The plate was hot as typical, but that was the only thing that was hot. Her chicken was cold, there was no white cheese sauce, and there was no shredded cheese despite them being listed on the menu. It was also perhaps the smallest taco salad I have seen at a traditional Mexican restaurant. I had the Enchiladas Supreme – cheese, beef, chicken, and bean enchiladas. The chicken was cold in my enchilada as well. The overall taste of each enchilada was bland. The size of the enchiladas were small as well and the plate had no rice or beans like you would typically get with a similar plate at other similar restaurants. While we were waiting for our food, I told my wife that we would come back in a few months after they get organized IF the food was good. Unfortunately, the food was far below that of several other Mexican restaurants in the area. No reason for us to go back. If you care, the prices were typical of any other Mexican restaurant in the area.By the way, I saw in an earlier review that the owner of El Cholula previously owned Viva Tequila in Mason, and I saw him this evening. Viva Tequila was one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area, but I have to admit that I have not been there for a while. Based on our experience we had tonight, the quality of the food and service at Viva Tequila did not come with the owner to El Cholula.

Fish tacos and sopa de pollo were fresh and very tasty. the soup was loaded with chicken, rice and large chunks of avocado and just -right spice with fresh cilantro. Very good service and large servings at great prices. I will go back.
