Went here for lunch. They served up chips and salsa. The salsa was a bit more watered down then i prefer. I then ordered the steak verde burrito. I thought it was very good, but nothing to rave about.I don’t think this place is bad, but there are definitely other Mexican restraunts that are much better.
Expensive and horriable. Went there for lunch with a friend and the so called lunch menu was just as expensive as the dinner menu and you got less food. We got seated right away but when it came time to order our food our waitress was nowhere to be found ,The food had a paper taste to it almost like it was cheap store bought frozen food that they passed off as their own. I’ve had frozen Mexican dinners that tasted better then the food I paid $10 for !!
Menu has been updated using fresher ingredients and new menu options. Even the salsas are fresher and improved.
Much improved!. Update: A meetup with friends and I found myself back at El Rancho on a very busy Saturday evening. Even with a long wait we were seated faster than time stated, service was very good and efficient and our meals came out quickly. Our food (flavor, quality) was on par with the Gran Fiesta days although still not a fan of their guacamole. Enjoy!08 May, 2009Sometimes change is a bad thing!. Gran Fiesta is now El Rancho Grande! My family and I ate at the newly renamed establishment earlier this evening. Not sure if the name change is part of a consolidation, purchase or merger? New menu as well. Much of the staff looked familiar as we had eaten here several times while Gran Fiesta. Also not sure if with the name change came new/different recipes but every previous visit was enjoyable from a food quality standpoint. The service has remained the same and is best categorized as adequate yet friendly. Unfortunately the food quality has gone down. My chili relleno was decent but the paired enchilada was bland and forgettable. While nicely crispy on the outside and not drowning in sauce, the filling of my wife’s chicken chimi was dry and bland as well. Even a simple order of children’s chicken fingers were overcooked. Both the guacamole and salsa were good but I suspect processed avocado with fresh tomato and onion added. How I wished for some fresh lime and cilantro, a chopping board, and a knife to appear in front of me. : )
On September 22, 2011 we entered this establishment as we typically do on a weekly basis as we had for three yrs now. The food seemed to be going downhill as it had been for sometime, but the icing on the cake was as we went to exit the restaurant the waiter approached us and tried to return our tip, more or less telling us he was insulted. Who does that? We spend lots of money in this place. This was the last straw. I do not recommend this place to ANYBODY, and will be calling them today to tell them we will never be returning. Customer service is HORRIBLE. Thanks but no thanks…..
Very good food. Nice atmosphere and prices. Food arrived promptly. My family will be back.
