Best first visit. I recently visited K Dot’s restaurant with my family and it was great. I didn’t expect the kind of food we got to come from such a small place. When we arrived there were only a few people in the place but as our meal went on it filled to capacity. We ordered four different meals from the menu and all of them were great. I had the Rueben which by all accounts was a really great rueben. My son had the 3 way which the chili is extremely good. The salmon was well prepared and the pork chops were very juicy. GREAT FOOD. Stopped in this past week for the first time and WOW, we were so impressed. The food is DELICIOUS!!!! The best Sauerbraten and Mock Turtle Soup we have ever had at a restaurant. We will definitely be heading back to this place. I would highly recommend K-Dots if you want delicious home-made food for not a lot of money.
We are regulars at K-dots on Westbourne. Great service, funny owner who loves kids and enjoys everyone. New hire or partner Chef, yes an accredited Chef. Specials are delicious, priced reasonably and from what I can tell, nothing premade or from a bag or can. Sit back, relax and enjoy. Very clean but a little worn. Worn is not dirty. According to a Board of Health report Skip shared with me, one of the cleanest restaurants on the westside. I didn’t know Skip until I went in for my first meal. Now I feel like I have an Uncle in the restaurant business.INDEPENDENTS NEED OUR SUPPORT. Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed! Tell Skip hello and how you heard about K-dots. PS. I have been in the kitchen and it is very clean. It’s a shame some people only complain (see below). Probably a competitor who has lost business to K-dots! Yes, not a lot of kids running around yet but enough and they are welcome. Skip plays and entertains the kids (and the parents). I wish the gentleman below would stop again and then Write another review. Keep up the great work at K-dots. Thanks for giving us healthy options, fresh vegetables, wild salmon, grilled fish, etc.
Mrs.. I patronize K-dots frequently. However, I was disappointed on Friday, Feb. 24 the first Friday of Lent. I ordered an egg salad on white toast only to be told they were out of hard boiled eggs and it would be another 20 mintues before the eggs were boiled. Since I was on my lunch hour this was not acceptable. I opted for a grilled cheese and tomato. The tomato was cold and certainly did not compliment the warm cheese. It turned out to be a disappointing lunch.
Excellent! Had the special pecan chicken andujon over vermicelli and a side of Italian vegetables which was the best meal I’ve had in the West Side in quite a while.Chicken was tender and the right portion size with a French gourmet type sauce. Two teens had the K-dot burger & onion rings & the other 3 chili coneys with finely shredded cheese.naturally consumed quickly but with good comments of being like at home. Young one had the kids plate of creating lg chicken pcs and huge fries. Was well stocked with other specials deserts and a family restaraunt feel yet only adults on an icy Jan Saturday and was quiet and warm by the windows
Not good. Went Sunday for lunch with my wife and her parents. It was quite crowded, mostly older people who most likely stopped in after Sunday Mass. This place just looks unkempt. On order – a burger described as bland. A bowl of homemade, at least that is what we were constantly reminded of by our waitress, that had to be sent back to be heated up. It came back still not hot, but just warm. A goetta and egg sandwich on a croissant – bland. No salt or pepper on the egg, and no cheese. A grilled ham & cheese sandwich, probably the best thing we had. When I went up to pay our bill, I got a glimpse of the kitchen. I’ll never return to this place.
