This place roasts pretty good coffee and espresso. Unfortunately they don’t seem to clean throughly enough between each espresso and latte they make. As a result the espresso drinks often taste gritty and stale, with the lingering bad taste of old espresso mixed with your fresh drink. After having hit or miss drinks each time I came, I have decided to go back to the Starbucks next door, which has a more consistent taste. I will still get beans here though to make at home.

The best place on the East Side for a good coffee and a muffin. This is a place that makes a damn good mocha (which helped during my move) and some of the best muffins I have had, which worked well since I was in need of breakfast. Lucky for me I needed two muffins and they only had 1 of what I would soon come to consider to be the best of this flavor I have ever had, anywhere, in any form (sorry, but some things are so good they must be kept a secret) and when I ordered it she told me they JUST had some pumpkin muffins come out and they are cooling down and asked if I wanted one. I told her I’ll take TWO! The icing was still warm on them (which was put on in a light swirl, which is perfect for me since I normally don’t eat icing) and the flavor was very good. Could have had maybe just a pinch more of pumpkin spice, but it was still very, very good. If they never changed anything about it I would still order them. I ate the whole thing faster than I wanted to, but that’s what happens when food is good. The girls working were friendly and even though this is not aimed at people looking for coffee in the evenings (understandable considering when most coffee is consumed) it is still very much worth going to. The prices seem fair, and I hate Fartbucks, whose coffee always tastes burnt and stale and makes me wonder why do so many people shell out so much on a daily basis for this garbage, so I’m glad to see a good coffee place close to home. Let the naive yuppies go to Fartbucks. I’m going to Luckman.
