Had the silver ladle salad, and the silver ladle sandwich. The salad was delicious, but the sandwich is forgettable. We also got ice cream sandwiches (which aren’t in the official menu), which were the best part of the meal. Not amazing food, but decent, and 3 adults had dinner, soft drinks, and dessert, for $26.
I am not the world’s biggest fan of soups, unless they are seafood bisques or chowders, so I have taken my time getting over to the second location of Silver Ladle after it opened near where I live in AndersonAll in all, I have to say there’s nothing in particular wrong with the place, but it is not one I can truly recommendThe famed chicken chili hit all the right notes in terms of taste, but the shredded chicken created such a textural difference from the expectations of Cincinnati style chili that I didn’t really enjoy it. I’d recommend they change their recipe to use ground rather than shredded chickenThe tastiest thing I ate was the mushroom soup, with large chunks of fresh mushrooms, but it was far thicker than it needed to be – almost a gelThe cheese coney and cookie I also sampled were fine/unremarkable.Service is at the counter as you enter, and the food is brought to you. Drinks are self-serve. Plenty of free parking is a plus.
