The Buckley House is by far Marietta’s best restaurant. It’s Mediterranean cuisine is expertly crafted and tastefully created by a master chef. Anyone who is looking for an upscale dining experience should make a dinner reservation as you will not be disappointed.

Two visits in the last two weeks. This place is simply amazing if you want fine dining and your in the Marietta/Vienna/Parkersburg area. The atmosphere and the service have been exceptional every time I have been here. The food is nothing short of amazing as well. My advice is to closely listen to the chef’s specials, they are amazing. My favorite is the lamb shank, which is large and fantastic. Another item I enjoyed was the beef tenderloin with onions. The caprese mozzarella salad and the seafood bisque are outstanding as well. The deserts are also top notch. A meal of this caliber would be almost twice the cost in any large city. Simply, if you want to take someone to dinner to make an impression, this is the place.

First Time Visit Not So Great. I ordered the T-Bone special. I think the steak has been frozen because it was dry and lacked fullness of flavor. Other than that, I found the restaurant pleasant, the service adequate, and the wine list satisfactory for both my taste and my budget. If you go, before you order ask if the entre’ is prepared using fresh or frozen. That’s what I’m saying.

Great Food, Horrible Service. I have eaten at the Buckley House enough now that I can say every single time, I have had great food and some average (but mostly horrible) service. The waiter and waitresses have been rude, neglectful and snooty. I have waited in the lobby for over five minutes without any acknowledgment, even with reservations. Despite delicious food, the experience always leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t know if I’ll be back soon, and I don’t think I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Not a bad place. Food pretty good and it is a really cool place. Worth it.

Exceeded expectations. Had heard about the good food and atmosphere and finally made it there last week for lunch. My two co-workers and I decided on the buffet after our waiter showed and explained it to us. The eclectic selection included Moussaka, Chicken Tikka, Fattoush, Tabbouleh, a rotini pasta dish, a curried rice dish, several vegetarian choices (a cabbage dish and a zucchini concoction that was superb), and a couple of things I can’t remember. Everything tasted wonderful and the Moussaka was fabulous. We had water to keep the bill at $9 plus tip. Our very youthful waiter (we guessed his age to be 14 lol) was knowledgeable and really catered to us. The seating is a little crowded once the place fills up. The decor is sparse, the walls bare, giving the place a minimalist uncrowded feel. I can’t wait till summer so I can enjoy the al fresco dining! The only recommendation I have is to offer something sweet on the buffet to finish off this exquisite, unexpected meal. Bravo!

Buckley House: Best in Marietta. As an avid amateur cook and slow food aficionado, I’m puzzled by the two old negative reviews that hang in at the top, blighting this otherwise overwhelmingly positive review page. I just returned from my second meal there in two weeks, and I’ve enjoyed dining at The Buckley House ever since it opened. I’ve been back enough to ascertain that Chef Emad *really* knows what he’s doing. Always surprising, always savory, always delectable, his dishes are hearty and satisfying, exotic and often kicky. Service is friendly, personable and solicitious. The lunch buffet is the best deal in town–$10 for a plate loaded with inventive treatments of vegetables and meats that you can find nowhere else in the area. Anyone who can make zucchini, cauliflower and summer squash delicious and interesting has got it going on. Chef Emad’s masterful balance of heat and spice guarantees my happiness every time, and I’m inclined to be critical of restaurant food. Rich flavor permeates every bite. I find myself wishing I could watch him wield the saute pans. I would bet it’s something to see.I’m hugely looking forward to spring and summer, when we can dine in the garden behind the restaurant. Before leaving today, we peered over the fence in a cold late-winter rain and dreamt. Please ignore the naysayers and give The Buckley House your full attention. Your palate will be tickled pink.
