Out of town regular. I drive through Marietta every six weeks or so when I travel from Lynchburg, VA to Southfield, MI to see my 93 year old Dad. I stay at the Lafayette Hotel and the Marietta Brewing Company is just down the block so I often go there for supper. Going in the late afternoon works well for me since I do not stop for lunch when I am driving and the draft beer is on sale then. I have been trying out a few things since this is a new place for me. The fish and chips were only OK and the daily special is, like it suggests, different each time so since I come infrequently I cannot expect it to repeat. I think I am about to settle on their several hamburger specials since they have been dependably good. I am a medium rare guy who likes my fries not covered up with ketchup. I am just looking for tasty and flavorful and don’t want to waste a visit getting something just OK. So, that is my plan for Marietta when I am driving back and forth next week.
Quiet Tuesday evening. Food excellent. Portions very nice size. Food was served hot which is always appreciated. Staff helpful and friendly. One negative is I would like to see more beer cheese on the beer cheese burger. It was quite scant. I would recommend it and come back again.
Decent. While I do enjoy the food here, their beer is WAY TO WARM! I don’t know why, but they either need to make their beers cooler, or serve it in chilled glasses. Every time I go, I choose not to drink their house made beers for this reason. Service is also VERY slow.
Yum!. We live near Licking County & travel to Marietta to eat at MBC all the time! The food is never a disappointment! As a vegetarian it is sometimes hard to find a good, filling meal when out with the meat & potatoes crowd. Not here! I could eat the Spinach-Artichoke dip everyday! Hubby says the Malt Steak is the best steak he’s ever had (& he’s had a lot of steaks!) It’s always a lot of fun to try the different beers for the different seasons they offer. We love the whole Marietta experience. We’ll be back soon!
Great eats and brew pub atmosphere! Happy hour daily with $1 off drafts and $2 off appetizers! We liked it!
Dead Atmosphere/Terrible Beer. Being a beer lover, even of the micros, I decided to check out the well-known Marietta Brewing Co. I must say I was not impressed. While it looks like the perfect hip microbrewery restaurant, the atmosphere seems muted and dead. Definitely not what you’d expect from a place like this. The food isn’t bad, but the bar is simply terrible. I even returned to try it a second time to see if it was any better, and to my surprise, it was worse. The beer was near room temperature (yuck!) and the Ale I ordered tasted more like a mixed IPA/Ale than anything else. It was the first time in a long time I committed the crime of not finishing my beer.
