Close to 30 or 30+? Low standards? R.P’s will be your new favorite place.. As I mentioned on another review site, this bar is definitely on my no-go list. I suppose this would be a fun bar if you were over 30 or close to 30 and ugly. Every time I’ve been there I’ve been disappointed in the crowd, the space, and the service. There is an art to running a small bar that results in efficiency and intimacy; R.P.’s has never studied this. I’m sure it’s a fine place to grab a bite to eat in the summer; however, i am not reviewing it as a restaurant or outdoor dining experience. As for a happy hour bar/ live music bar, this is one of the all time worst. Unattractive people flock here at night in an area that is well known for plenty of attractive and successful mid 20 somethings. Lest it be assumed that I am a self important 25 year old, I’ll assure you right now, I am, and have every right to be at this point in my life. I simply want to help illuminate the demographic this bar does and does not appeal to. If you want to feel cool and accepted after years of perpetual social status awkwardness you will fit right in here among others of your ilk. If you have not lived in Cincinnati for very long please be assured that there are dozens of much more entertaining, lively and aesthetically pleasing small bars to check out if that’s what you’re looking for. Good luck with the balding men and school teachers this bar attracts. My recommendation: don’t settle with the rest of the dregs at R.P. McMurphy’s.
