Good pub food. Had dinner about 7 pm The place was dark, almost too dark, cold, and almost empty. Weeknights are often when you really get a fair sample of what the cooking is all about. Started with a chicken with black bean soup. Not many beans in there at all, and while the soup was hot, the taste needed salt to bring up the flavors.. She tried the BOM Hamburger with Rosemary & Garlic fries . I had the chicken on ciabatta, also with the same fries. The burger was done medium rare and good, the chicken breast was too much, I ate half and saved the rest for tomorrow. The fries, well, there was a lot of them, and they were hot, but frankly, the Rosemary did not help. I could say without reservation that the place is OK, probably a favorite with the local folks, and in that regard, I would say, enjoy the meal, but don’t expect a meal that is truly remarkable. Oh, last thought, a bit too pricey for what we had.

Overpriced. They have a sign that say’s Best fish fry in Kent. So I tried it. Nice atmosphere, great waitress, great chicken and corn chowder. Fish fry was 2 pieces of cod with fries and cole slaw. Fish was ok, a little greasy as if the fryer was not hot enough, but for the fish fry it was $21.00 which was high. Fries came in a stainless steel bowl which looked nice but didn’t make the 2 pieces of fish worth $21. Cole slaw was nothing special. Nice wine selection.

Solid atmosphere, food is decent and great drinks. Just need to pave the parking lot.

Maybe once more. Can’t decide. Snobby hostess turned us off, but waitperson was fine.Never have had to pay for more bread anywhere I can remember. You order two bottles of wine, appetizers, dinner, coffee, but you have to pay for three more pieces of white bread???? May try it again due to location, but definitey not impressed the first go ’round.

What’s up with the Garlic?. Just had lunch here today. This once bustling spot was incredibly quiet for 12:15, not sure the reason but the ladies at the next table were not happy with their soup. Bland and not up to par was the sentiment. My salad which was today’s special was nice and I ordered the rosemary/truffle fries on the side. What about rosemary and truffle fries makes one think that they are served with 6, yes six cloves of roasted garlic, I am allergic and avoid garlic and at all costs, but even if I weren’t, wouldn’t you think six cloves of garlic deserve a mention to the customer? Completed distorted the taste of the fries, all you could taste was garlic. Not going back soon.

Great spot. Found on visit to Kent State with my wife and two boys after ice hockey.. Very nice atmosphere, dim / romantic / comfortable, very upscale, clean. Bathrooms A+. Started w/ fried pickles and crab cakes, excellent. Homemade bread and salads awesome. Homemade dressings, good portions. Scallops and salmon excellent. This is a good spot, exceptional and upscale food and menu. Very comfortable with my kids, nothing to be picky about – just an all around good spot. I WILL be back.

Pitiful… just Pitiful…. Wife and I had dinner there last Thursday. We had been comming there for years. The grilled cheese I had was good but the fries were not edible. My wife likes hot, spicy food but even she couldn’t eat them. Her clams & Scallops were VERY gritty (inside & out) although the sauce, though very gritty, was excellent. Her Spinach apparently had been boiled in oil and was not edible. The drinks wewre good and the service was excellent, as always. They gave us a $20 gift card but we definitly will NOT be back. There are many other good places to eat in the Stow Kent area.
