Ray’s has great atmosphere and the food is good. This time they fell a little short – the service wasn’t good. We got passed off to 3 different servers – which was weird. I have food allergies. We ordered and it took 15 mins for the server to come back to say I probably shouldn’t eat what I ordered & then was kind of discouraged from changing my order. She made it happen but not without making me feel like a jerk for asking. Overall I was uncomfortable this time, but will we go there again? Absolutely – I’ll just stick to ordering things I know I can eat.
Visiting from out of town on business and this was my first visit. Very good overall experience. Food was great. I had the French onion soup and Ray’s Ruben. Both were very delicious. Although it was crowded and a bit congested, the noise level was ok for talking business. Beer selection was decent.
The food was good but the waiter did not care about us as customers. He simply ignored us.
Always Consistent. Been here multiple times. The service is always good, not great. Very friendly staff, although slightly unknowledgeable. The food is always what is expected, good. There is obviously a reason they’ve been around for over 75 years.
My husband and I stopped at Rays after a Kent HS basketball game. this is the second time I have eaten there. I ordered a cheeseburger medium rare with mustard ketchup and pickles. The bun was stale, the burger over cooked, the cheese not melted. a huge disappointment. My husband’s burger with everything but cheese was equally disappointing. I was surprised to see that the fellows in the back don’t wear gloves when prepping the burgers. sort of gross. I think I am over Rays. I have had better burgers including one at Yours Truly!
We waited quite a while for a table. Waited freakin forever for our food. Luckily it was worth it. We got veggie burgers and fries and they were really good.
Nachos were a joke, extra $ for each dip. Only the cheese one tasted good, the salsa was warm in temperature and tasted more like spaghetti sauce. Mac n cheese bites were pretty good. Frys looked like a grease pile.
