First experience was nothing short of exceptional. Second experience, not so much….Reservations were for 7;00pm, we didn’t get seated until 7:45pm. Drinks were empty several times. Also had to wait for our check for over 10 minutes to be returned to us.
It’s OK. Went to Mamma DiSalvo’s last night. I’m from Omaha and here on business. Everyone here raved about Mamma DiSalvo’s so my expectations were high. The atmosphere’s not much to speak of. It’s old school with mirrors on all the walls circa 1978. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana. It was distinctly average and tasted like salmon was in the dish they cooked it in. I love salmon, but the combination of flavors was less than desirable. For what I paid for the dish and the number of great restaurants in the area, I wouldn’t go back. Again it’s wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t great.
HUGE disappointment. We wanted terribly to like this restaurant. In fact, at one time, we did like this restaurant. Unfortunately, amateur mistakes and bland food have ruined our relationship with this establishment. The last two time I have ordered my regular eggplant parm the pasta was missing from the dish and there was more breading than actual eggplant. The lasagna has no flavor, the wine sauces taste like they are missing the wine. The cannolis are nothing special and are clearly not homemade. Buy their sauce at Dorothy Lane and save yourself the money and time. It’s the only thing worth spending money on.For the price you pay to eat at Mamma DiSalvo’s and the time you will wait for the food, it is not worth it. I wish it was, but it’s not. $86 on three meals, to-go… and none of them were good? No thanks. We’re done. Nothing could bring us back there.
Horrible. Went at 6pm on Sunday night. Waited an hour and no food. Tables around us that arrived after us had been served and nearly finished. There were only 2 in our party. Manager and server couldnt have cared less. Avoid this place like the plague
Mama’s is ONE OF A KIND Italian resturant! The food is absolutely amazing! You will not find Italian like this just anywhere! The invironment is really chill and laid back! Great for people coming from the office or a couple on a date not so much a family place. Men take your wife’s or sig. Other out to Mama’s for some great Italian and wine, it might just set the mood for the night 😉
Just great food….place is nice. About the best Italian food next to Troni’s in Dayton….plus Pete Rose ate there all the time.
Overrated. The food here is overpriced, especially for the skimpy portion size. The food isn’t very good either, everything tastes like it either came out of a can or was bought pre-made and purchased at a restaurant supply store. What a let down for a local restaurant. I really don’t know why people like it.
