Best on the Westside…. Quaint, cozy, not a lot of tables, but big on service and food. Get there early (5ish) cause otherwise you will have to wait, there’s only 10 tables, but the wait is well worth it. Even in the summer they’ve got outside dining. Go there at least every couple of weeks. Outstanding meat sauce, the best Veal Picata and Veal Marsala anywhere. I just rotate between those and spaghetti with meat sauce. Also one of the best Pizza.
Perfect home made Italian spot. The restaurant itself is small, but cozy. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table but it was well worth it. Happy service and amazing home cooked food for a great price. The grape pie lives up to the hype! Will gladly return for more.
Not bad. I think if you know what you’re in for, you’ll enjoy this place. Don’t expect it to be the best Italian food ever. Don’t expect super authentic. But to me, the food was tasty, the staff was nice, and the experience was enjoyable. This place is TINY and the decor is kind of cheesy (like 99% of the Italian restaurants in America). The menu is big enough, good amount of variety. I got a side salad and it was lame but honestly, I’ve come to expect that of small restaurants (iceberg lettuce, whatever). We got some tasty rolls and butter with our dinner, though, and that was nice. I really liked my food (spinach ravioli with vodka sauce) and my boyfriend enjoyed his (shrimp ravioli, I think?). The price was reasonable, the service was fast. The desserts were good, too. Some of them are from a local dessert shop. Overall, I won’t go back here all the time or anything but I think it’s a good Italian restaurant on the West side, when I don’t feel like going out to Little Italy. It was cozy and friendly with decent food at a decent price. Don’t go in expecting to be blown away. I think my expectations were low because most hole-in-the-wall Italian places are almost exactly like this place. That’s not exactly a selling point but also shouldn’t be held against it, if you ask me!
Steady Dependable Deliscious. Have been there a lot ,but not frequently or in a pattern of time. Thus making for a better way to grade a place. So to the point.I have never had a meal that i did’nt like.I have enjoyed dinners there for years and after all that time had never tried a pizza..What a mistake (not trying one previously) they are Great. The place is small ..really. but if you have to wait and you will. It is worth the wait because it is unpretensious, inexpensive, great simple American Italian food served promptly with care. And YOU will be back..Oh yeah ask for the Grape Pie
A restaurant that the majority of people would drive by on Detroit avenue. Probably one of Lakewood’s best kept secrets. It’s a small cozy restaurant that makes you feel like your at home. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the chicken piccata with penne and the sauce was the highlight as it was thick with a hint of sweetness. The garlic bread was outstanding too. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this place
Excellent. Had the veal and was very pleased. It was a large portion and well prepared. The sauce is a sweeter red but very tasty. I would be glad to come back.
Great food.. I really enjoyed my meal here but I think they are missing out on a different market. The inside may seem ‘homey’ to some people but is completely tacky to me. With some decluttering, a fresh coat of paint and a redecorated patio area (the outside lattice and lights need to go), they could easily transition into a fine dining establishment.
