Nothing spectacular about the food or drinks. The bartender is refreshingly attentive, which is a HUGE plus on a Saturday night. I got a basic steak Hoag with good tasting fresh, steamed broccoli. My husband got a calzone, which was tasty. I would cone sgwin, but maybe try one of their pasta dishes instead.

Diner from IL. The pizza was delicious and my daughter enjoyed a yummy burger. Neat little town and great restaurant. Wish we’d had more time to look around or walk the trail. Worth the drive – look forward to going back sometime.

Cool atmosphere. But high school host staff ruined the experience and wasted an hour of my life. Food also priced above average for quality and portion size. Try somewhere else when in downtown Loveland.

Great beer selection, superb spinach & artichoke dip. DO NOT GO FOR PIZZA.

This is a prime of example of you get what you pay for and the argument to hire competent wait/host staff and pay them appropriately, Having a bunch of teenage girls run your front desk…huge mistake. I was underwhelmed with the whole experience and likely won’t be back. Food 5/10, service 1/10, atmosphere 3/10.

Great pizza crust, all else is a fail. From the outside, the Works seemed like a good idea. It certainly had a lot of customers, and the setting seemed fun, in an old waterworks; also, an attached passenger rail car converted to a dining car.We decided to try sitting in the rail car. Big mistake. It is extremely noisy, and so remote to the kitchen that it was obvious that every waiter hates it. If you do decide to go there – visit the rail car – then sit in the main dining area of the restaurant. We ordered a Brick Oven pizza. The only positive aspect to this pizza was the crust, which was excellent. Pretty much like any other brick oven crust, they are usually good, no matter where you get them. But the toppings were very sad. We got a sausage, pepperoni and onion pizza. The toppings covered maybe the center third of the pizza ; no, you don’t take them out the the edge in this style but dumping the toppings in the center is not acceptable! Flavor? Completely lacking. Not only were the meat toppings sparse, they tasted like they had spent a year in the freezer. And the worst aspect of this pizza; the texture of their cheese was OFF. It was like it had separated, had a gritty mouth feel that was anything but appetizing. Yuck. Finally, imagine a sweetish unremarkable tomato sauce undercoating all of the above…Another negative about the Works, and Loveland restaurants in general, is dealing with the local yuppies that frequent these places. The snoot factor is very high. We sat in the rail car across from four children that were pretty much left to their own devices, while their parents sat in another booth, complaining about their wait and so-on, and from time to time gently admonishing their lovely children to behave, as they played with their toys and their food.To top it off we had a surly girl waitress. She obviously hated working there, and it showed. I would hate working there too, servicing that rail car. Unhappy wait staff always says a lot about management. There are much better restaurants in Loveland for sure. But regardless, you may feel like a stranger, in this place where the locals think they are just a little bit better than you (even though they are actually living in a gentrified river-rat town!).

Love, love, LOVE sitting on the outside patio, drinking a glass of wine and eating brick oven pizza with a few friends. No better way to spend a summer night. My kiddos all love this place too.
