Flimsy and Underwhelming! …. Flimsy and Underwhelming! My first experience with Veg Head was at their new kiosk at Kids First. Despite my initial hesitation based on their lack of signage, bland decor, and bare bones menu, I decided to give it a whirl. A 1/2 panini is $5 and only lets you choose 2 ingredients, so I assumed they would be hearty portions of those ingredients. NO. My plate came with a wrongly-named 1/2 panini that was actually just two half slices of grilled bread with 1 slice of thin deli meat and roughly 1/8 cup of shredded cheddar lumped in the center of the bread. My toppings on the side were a slice of tomato, 2 pickle slices, and some slimy, surely expired greens.I am pretty easily satisfied by most food that ends up in front of me, but this was so bad and so non-existent for its price that it demanded a bad review. I am here twice every week of the year, and I’ll never eat their food again.
DINER from Loveland. If you really like vegetables….don’t eat here.I never write reviews but this food was so bad, I thought I needed to share it with someone so you don’t waste your money. I love vegetables! But not the way they do it. I got the recommended sampler platter. $10.95! Served on a smaller-than-dinner-plate paper plate (is going green using small throw away plates with super cheep/flimsy white plastic forks?) So on the plate we had…2 tablespoons of hummus with chopped green olives on top (you know the kind that you get in the jar with pimento).Cheap! 2 tablespoons of Tofu salad that had more raisons than tofu…tasted like sage/thanksgiving stuffing…interesting but kinda gross with all the raisons. BlackBean burger, so thinly sliced it was dry and crumbly…tomato, lettuce, pickle(same kind McDs would serve) served on the thinest sliced bread that when you picked it up…the mayo ooosed through and broke apart….it was a mess! Also on the small plate was a little scoop of runny chicken salad (juices ran into bread and made soggy). Consisted of HARD chicken chunks that were maybe grilled to death or canned….hard for me to tell. The chicken was grey. Not edible and it had more raisons than chicken. We were sick with raisons! Here’s the best part…they are called Veg head right? On the plate were 2 small broccoli florets, VERY soft, VERY old. 2 small sticks of carrot and 2 small sticks of celery…old as well, dry & browning. It was like going to a basement party & someone, who thinks they eat vegetables, brought the appetizer consisting of precut (sit around for days) slices of carrot, celery & broccoli with ranch dip. Ranch dip would have been better…thats how bad this was! We also had the recommended chicken wrap. same chicken as earlier described. so sloppy runny, its making me gag thinking about it.The wrap came with 7 (yes we counted because there was so few) ruffled potato chips. Nothing special…probably Ruffles. And a big serving of bland red cabbage slaw. Maybe that was good but everything else was so bad our appetite was ruined. Thats 23 dollars we aren’t getting back. And the excuse wasn’t that maybe the chef/owner wasn’t there that day…. He was.
Sooooo good. You don’t have to be a vegetarian to enjoy this place – there’s grilled chicken and philly steak on the menu. But if you are a vegetarian, you will have found Nirvana with the Veghead wrap. I love what this place is: a small, family owned business that is doing things RIGHT.
Serendipity in a strip mall. Ok…it’s not really a strip mall, but my fiance and I passed this place all the time before we first stopped in. Now we can’t get enough of it! I’m loyal to the wrap (with all three options); it’s super delicious – a perfect dinner. It’s certainly share-able, depending on your appetite, but when you taste it, selfishness ensues! In addition to the food, the staff is always great. The atmosphere is cool as well, though we usually do takeout and eat at home (I’d like to pretend I made it).
Yum!. I drove by the sign quite a bit, but never ventured in. Then in March, they handed out samples at the Kroger across the street, and it was the best tasing wrap I ever had. I am not a vegetarian, and go at least once a week. and always get a veggie option. My husband has had some of their meat items, but my favorite is the wrap, and I get it with the curry hummus & black bean burger. I have also had their crab cake, and tasted my husband’s philly steak sandwich & the chicken salad. They can be slow during lunch, so I usually just call it in & pick it up to go. It is a great little place with nice people concerned about healthy eating & a healthy environment. They also finally have a website: http://www.imaveghead.com/VegHeadMenu.html

Great Food. Great tasting black bean burger. I am not a vegetarian but have been trying to eat more healthy so a friend of mine recommended the burger at the Veg Head. I am glad I tried it. Their hummus is home made with different flavors. Cozy place with great food. Go check it out!
